00:00Good news for the Philippine sports, because a few months ago,

00:05the IOC session of the sport of boxing in 2008 Los Angeles Olympics will be formalized.

00:13For the details, here is the report of teammate Paolo Salamatin.

00:18The initiative of World Boxing will finally bear fruit.

00:22As a new governing body held in the Olympic Boxing Events,

00:26now approved by the International Olympic Committee Board members,

00:29the proposal to include the sport of boxing in the upcoming 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

00:35As a formality, almost 100 members need to add the said decision to the upcoming IOC session this week.

00:44Since the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paris Olympics last year,

00:48the IOC is in charge of organizing the boxing tournament in the Olympics.

00:53After the removal of recognition by the Russian-led International Boxing Association or IBA

00:58due to some issues related to government and corruption,

01:01the Philippine Sports Commission Chairman Richard Bachman

01:05was pleased with such news, especially the sport of boxing,

01:09among the medals won by the country in the Olympics.

01:13It's a big thing because we all know that we are a boxing country

01:16and we actually have a lot of athletes that can actually perform in the international stage.

01:20So, again, that's one of the sports that we need to support.

01:25Now, the only thing that's waiting is for the morale of the Philippine Boxing Olympians to rise

01:30for their training in the hope of being able to fight again

01:33and for the country's flag to be raised in the 2028 LA Olympics.
