00:00The Department of Social Welfare and Development, or DSWD, launched an easier travel clearance for minors
00:10through their MTA portal.
00:12This is done through a smooth, simple, and fast transaction
00:17in obtaining a minor's traveling abroad clearance from the agency.
00:22In an interview with Radio Pilipinas,
00:24DSWD Assistant Secretary Ada Colico
00:28gave their online portal two services for minors,
00:33such as the Certificate of Exemption for non-marital parents
00:37who are in the custody of their parents, grandparents, and siblings.
00:43Travel clearance will be obtained for children 14 years old and above
00:48who can travel without their parents.
00:52Children 13 years old and below must have a guardian or parent
00:58if they are to travel abroad.
01:02For the Certificate of Exemption,
01:05if you are unmarried,
01:08that means the child's parents are not married,
01:12but the child's custody is with the father.
01:16He is the biological father.
01:19So we need a Certificate of Exemption for that.
