00:00Let's start with Aaron Rodgers, since nobody seems to know what he's doing.
00:04Yeah, and people are speculating, but I can tell you this, the Steelers definitely want him.
00:09Scott, look, you and I have talked about this Russell Wilson situation.
00:12He's only a fallback option.
00:14Okay?
00:15There are two guys left.
00:16It's Aaron Rodgers and everybody else.
00:18It's Russell Wilson, too.
00:19So let's go to your Steelers, right?
00:21They feel with their offensive line, which they think this is one of the best offensive lines they've put together in a number of years.
00:27They're getting Furtado back, who was their first-round pick last year from his knee injury where he missed the season.
00:32He's back.
00:33They feel like if you can protect the quarterback, and they believe that they can because they had some issues last year.
00:39Dan Moore got that huge deal, by the way, with the Titans, $20.5 million out of nowhere, although I'm told three or four teams are in it.
00:46But they feel like their offensive line is going to be great.
00:48They're just missing a quarterback.
00:50And if you can protect Aaron Rodgers, speaking of Aaron Rodgers, you could probably win.
00:55Aaron Rodgers has got a couple things here.
00:57First of all, and I'm not covering up for him at all, but he had two significant injuries.
01:02He had a MCL sprain, I'm told, and a hamstring strain.
01:06Part of the season, Scott, those injuries overlapped each other.
01:10How could someone at 41 years old be able to move?
01:13Okay?
01:14He looked terrible for a while.
01:15Okay?
01:16And, by the way, the Jets' offensive line was not very good.
01:18But the Steelers clearly believe he's got at least one good year left in him.
01:23And what this would do, Scott, if your Steelers got him, not that the draft is about everything, but they wouldn't have to draft a quarterback this year.
01:32Or they could, but knowing that guy would not play this year.
01:35And we're going to get later in the segment to updated information on the quarterback class.
01:40But, Scott, the Steelers believe if they get Aaron Rodgers, they're taking the sink to the next level.
01:45Because you saw the way you and I talked about it a lot.
01:48Russell, after that great start, Russell Wilson collapsed.
01:51And he struggled.
01:52And, as I reported a couple months ago, Arthur Smith and the coaches wanted to bench him, but they were told they couldn't do it.
01:59But, yet, they've left the door open, I'm told, absolutely to come back if Aaron Rodgers does not sign there.
02:04So, that's Pittsburgh.
02:06The Giants clearly want Aaron Rodgers.
02:07There's no question about it.
02:09And Russell Wilson's a fallback option.
02:11Then you've got the Browns, by the way, are in it for Russell Wilson.
02:15So, you mentioned the Dominoes.
02:17It's remarkable to me that a 41-and-a-half-year-old quarterback sets the table for these teams.
02:24This is the state, Scott, of the quarterback position.
02:27This is how bad it's become.
02:29That you're waiting on a 41-and-a-half-year-old quarterback, but it is what it is.
02:33Yes, he's going to be Hall of Fame or something.
02:35I mean, it's just insanity.
02:37And he's got them all hostage.
02:40Like, nothing has happened in Cleveland, Minnesota, the Giants, and the Steelers.
02:46I have to say, like, if I'm him and I see, you know, how loaded Minnesota is, fair enough.
02:54I understand why he would go there.
02:56They're loaded with talent and receivers and everything else.
02:59And then the Steelers have Pickens and Metcalf and Friarmuth, which is enticing.
03:06And, you know, they're let's face facts.
03:10The Steelers go to the playoffs.
03:12The Steelers win Super Bowls.
03:13It's been a while, but they win Super Bowls.
03:15And the Vikings don't.
03:17And, I mean, he thinks he's going to win one in Minnesota.
03:20They're jinxed.
03:21I don't care what anybody says.
03:22They never win anything.
03:23And the Steelers go to the playoffs.
03:25And if they had someone like that, and they had a line, and they have those receivers,
03:29and they have that defense, they might actually win a playoff game for the first time since 15
03:33and not be such a joke.
03:37So, it's funny you mention that, getting Rodgers in the playoffs where they haven't won since 2017.
03:44The Steelers really feel, I could just tell from talking to people there,
03:47that they think they have a really complete football team without the quarterback.
03:50Mason Rudolph right now will be the number two quarterback.
03:53Now, Scott, let's do this.
03:55Let's turn our attention to this list.
03:57So, what if the Steelers don't get Rodgers, right, and they bring back Wilson?
04:03That's not going to stop them from drafting quarterback.
04:06Now, you and I have talked about Campbell.
04:08He's clearly, as I've been telling you for three months now, it's not close.
04:11He's the number one quarterback in this draft.
04:13Trudeau or Sanders should be the second quarterback.
04:15But after that, we have not talked about Quinn Ures.
04:18I know people beat him up after that season.
04:21He didn't look right.
04:22He didn't throw the ball right.
04:23Well, he had a – Scott, you know injuries, right?
04:27If you're a pitcher and you have an oblique injury, you're out two months.
04:30You're done.
04:31He had an oblique injury, which bothered him for just about the entire season.
04:34He just couldn't throw the ball right.
04:36Well, I could tell you from talking to people at the Combine, he threw the ball really well.
04:40He's back to normal.
04:41He's throwing the ball well.
04:42He's a guy you and I are going to be talking more to lead up to the draft.
04:46He's going to go a little bit higher than you think.
04:48Jackson Dart of Mississippi, no quarterback.
04:50It's kind of like Bo Nix last year at this time where it all started for Bo Nix at the Senior Bowl.
04:55I was there.
04:56I saw it.
04:57Well, Jackson Dart, I saw it.
04:58He did an excellent Senior Bowl week of practices.
05:02You know, I hate to say guys rising on draft boards,
05:04but he certainly will go no worse in the second round.
05:07He could sneak in late in the first round.
05:09Absolutely could happen.
05:11Here's my top sleeper right now.
05:13Tyler Schall, who I saw at the Senior Bowl.
05:15Now, people knock on me, turns 26 in late September.
05:18Folks, let me just explain it to you.
05:20You could play great quarterback.
05:23You could be a great quarterback until your late 30s.
05:26Rich Gannon was 38 before he had a neck injury.
05:29I remember talking to Rich many years ago.
05:30Had he not had that neck injury, he might have played into his 40s.
05:33So I wouldn't worry about that Schall turns 26 in September.
05:37He's from Louisville.
05:38He's got good size.
05:39He's got a good arm.
05:40He's another guy we're going to talk about more.
05:42And Riley Leonard out of Notre Dame.
05:43The more coaches I talk to, Scott, watch his tape,
05:46the more they like him.
05:47So maybe this class, who everyone's just beating off,
05:49but it's a terrible draft class for the last 20 years, Scott,
05:52maybe it's not going to be as bad as people think.
