00:00The government needs to fund spending to increase social assistance to counter the effects of the trade war, which may reduce the risk of inflation, said economic experts.

00:12Aimee Zulhazmi Abdul Rashid from the University of Kuala Lumpur said that the trade war between the US and China is expected to see an increase in import rates, which can disrupt supply chains and increase goods prices.

00:26It is said that the government may be forced to increase aid to the people, Rahmah cash donations and Rahmah foundation donations to absorb this effect.

00:35The 2025 spending saw the government increase the demand for SDR and SARA to RM13 billion compared to RM10 billion, which will benefit 9 million recipients or 60% of the country's adult population.

00:51Ahmad Razman Abdul Latif from Putra Business School also said that the increase in aid to the people can be covered through the transfer of subsidies, including for round 95, is expected to amount to RM8 billion.

01:05Chakrin Utip, a spokesman for the Putra Business School and Economics University of Malaysia, also agreed that the approach to the large-scale subsidy of round 95 was made in series and at the same time provides additional protection mechanisms for the affected groups.

01:21Chakrin also reminds the government to take long-term steps to protect the welfare of the people, such as strengthening the local agricultural sector through the use of modern agricultural technologies such as artificial intelligence and regenerative agricultural models for productivity levels and food prices stabilization.
