00:00A DAP youth leader has filed a police report against Abdul Hadi Awang over a Facebook post

00:07by the past president opposing the proposal for a limit to the Prime Minister's tenure.

00:13Kepung DAP Youth Chief Jefferson Chia, who filed the report at the Kepung Police Station

00:18yesterday, said Hadi's statement was seditious, particularly his claim that Islam is being

00:24openly opposed by DAP.

00:26In his statement, Jefferson said that this is a dangerous accusation that could trigger

00:31racial and religious tensions.

00:33He also said Hadi must be hauled to court and take responsibility for his statement,

00:39warning that inaction from authorities will encourage politicians to make more hateful

00:43and seditious statements.

00:45Last Sunday, DAP Secretary-General Lok Siu Fook said the party wanted the government

00:50to amend the federal constitution to include a two-term limit for the Prime Minister.

00:56Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim expressed support for the proposal, but said consensus was needed

01:01among the political parties.

01:03However, Hadi criticized DAP's call, saying the proposal went against God's will, and

01:08that liberal factions dominating the political landscape were actively working to dismantle

01:13the system that safeguarded Islamic rights.
