00:00Bagan MP Lim Kwan Ing has been re-elected to DAP's 30-member Central Executive Committee.

00:08Lim, a former finance minister and two-term Penang Chief Minister, was most recently the

00:14party's national chairman.

00:17The seven-term MP previously served as DAP Secretary-General for 17 years before handing

00:23the post over to Luk Su Fok in 2022.

00:28Lim placed 26th in the top 30, garnering 1,719 votes.

00:35Penang Chief Minister Chow Kwan Yew, who has been speculated as being pushed to take over

00:40the DAP chairmanship from Lim, received 2,101 votes to finish in 19th place.

00:48In the run-up to the elections, a campaign to oust Lim appeared to take shape, with several

00:54veteran DAP leaders and members publicly calling for him to make way for younger leaders.

01:01Damansara MP Gobind Singh Deol secured the top spot in the election with 2,785 votes,

01:09while Sarawak DAP Chief Chong Chien-jen finished second with 2,631 votes.

01:16Among the biggest upsets were Jelutong MP RS Nrayer, Seputay MP Teresa Kok, and Deputy

01:23Finance Minister Lim Hui-ying, who all failed to make it into the CEC.
