Swiss-Russian claims EU Council ignored Court's sanctions annulment

Alexander Pumpyanskiy is a son of Russian businessman Dmitry Pumpyanskiy, who until 2022 was the head of Russia's largest pipe manufacturer TMK. He was present at Vladimir Putin's first meeting with businessmen after the start of the full-scale invasion.

00:00Swiss-Russian Alexander Pupyansky has told Euronews that his continued inclusion on the
00:06EU sanctions list is aberrant and shows the Council is flying against a decision of the
00:11EU courts.
00:13Alexander, son of Russian businessman Dmitry Pupyansky, previously held positions in companies
00:18formerly owned by his father.
00:20He was originally included in the sanctions list as associated with his father, but is
00:25now listed under the EU's 2023 amended sanctions criteria.
01:25After an appeal in 2023, the General Court annulled the decisions.
01:49Unfortunately the Council didn't execute it, according to the Swiss-Russian.
