A temporary ceasefire deal has been signed between Russia and Ukraine, with both sides agreeing to halt military strikes on vessels in the Black Sea. Russia has approved the ceasefire terms but is demanding sanctions relief, particularly in the agriculture sector, and an end to shipping bans on Russian vessels. Ukraine's President Zelensky expressed scepticism about Russia's commitment to the agreement, suggesting the US may need to exert more pressure on Russia.

00:00Are we looking at an end to the war between Russia and Ukraine?
00:09Finally, has USA been able to get a ceasefire deal signed?
00:12It's a temporary conflict ceasefire deal that has been signed is what we can tell you.
00:17Kremlin, however, demanding sanctions relief in exchange.
00:20Remember, massive sanctions that were put on Russia ever since the war started, especially
00:24by the Western nations.
00:26Kremlin is demanding sanctions relief in that case.
00:29Kremlin, however, has also said lift the sanctions on Russian agriculture sector, end the shipping
00:34bans on Russian vessels.
00:36But there's been an approval that has come in from Russia with regard to the ceasefire
00:40terms.
00:41Ukraine already has agreed to it.
00:43Remember, the details includes in many ways also to maintain the status quo as it stood
00:49and now to just step back and ensure that the deaths do not happen.
00:53Shivani Sharma joining me for the latest on that.
00:56Shivani, looks like there's been an approval coming in from Kremlin on this.
01:01What does this mean here on?
01:02Also, what are the demands coming in from Russia?
01:04Pooja, this is an important agreement or we can say a way forward for the truce.
01:10This is a partial truce, we can say, where Russia and Ukraine have agreed to halt military
01:15strikes on the vessels in the Black Sea.
01:17But what Zelensky has said that he doesn't believe that Russia is going to agree with
01:24these agreements and in that case, US will need to put more pressure on Russia, that's
01:28what he has said.
01:30But what you were saying a while ago that yes, Russia has demanded that the sanctions
01:34must be lifted and the agricultural, the state-owned agricultural banks that have been targeted
01:43by United States and the pause in the attacks and only then the pause in the attacks on
01:48the energy will come into force.
01:50So, this is a step forward, we can say, but we need confirmation from Russia's side that
01:56does it agree to these talks that have happened with the United States and we have to see
02:04that how...
02:05And also, Russia not just agreeing no, and also giving out their share of demands and
02:08their share of appeal coming in.
02:09Will that be approved?
02:10Will the sanctions be now ending with regard to Russia that was put on by especially the
02:16USA and other Western nations?
02:17Shivani, thank you very much for now.
