00:00The International Criminal Court accepted the arrest and transfer of former President Rodrigo Duterte to their custody.

00:08In the statement of ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan,

00:11he gave the criminal responsibilities of the former President from 2011 to 2019,

00:19including the leadership of the Devil Death Squad and the bloody war on drugs under his administration.

00:25The ICC explained that the former President Duterte's case is under the jurisdiction of their jurisdiction

00:31because the allegations were made while the Philippines is still part of the Rome Statute.

00:37The ICC also assigned the victims, witnesses and activists to assist in the investigation.

00:43The ICC is currently preparing for Duterte's initial appearance and the next legal proceedings.

00:52It's important to underline as we now start a new stage of proceedings that Mr. Duterte is presumed innocent.

01:02He will make his initial appearance before the court soon.

01:06And the focus of the office is on the judicial proceedings on unproving his case before the judges of the International Criminal Court.

01:17And many say that international law is not as strong as we want, and I agree with that.

01:23But as I also repeatedly emphasize, international law is not as weak as some may think.

01:31When we come together, when we work, when we build partnerships, the rule of law can prevail.

01:38Warrants can be executed.
