00:00The Department of Agriculture clarified the released memorandum of the Commission on Elections
00:04regarding the sale of NFA rice in the 45-day election campaign period that will start from March 28 to May 11.
00:12According to the DA, the LGU should no longer apply for an exemption from the COMELEC
00:17as long as they comply with the conditions set by the agency for the sale of NFA rice
00:22in accordance with the National Food Security Emergency on rice.
00:26Meanwhile, the DA is consulting with the Japan International Cooperation Agency, or JAICA,
00:31for the possible P11 billion projects to post-harvest facility for rice
00:36that will be supported by the National Food Authority and other partner rice cooperatives and associations.
00:42The aim of this is to help local farmers as well as to lower the price of rice.
00:47In order to continue to lower the price of meat, the DA is implementing the Maximum Suggested Retail Price for pork.
00:56As of now, the DA is continuously consulting with supermarkets to lower the price of pork.
