00:05Yeah, the start was really good with the time trial and I finished fourth. Just one second for the podium.

00:12And yeah, now I'm there also at around 9-10 seconds from Ayuso and we will see in the hardest stages.

00:22What's the goal?

00:23The goal for sure is the podium. Try to achieve the podium.

00:28Is today a stage for GC or not?

00:32I don't know. It can be, but it also depends a lot on the weather.

00:38Is Ayuso the main rival?

00:41Yeah, I think so. For me, it's Ayuso.

00:45Marc, what's your goal in this Tirreno-Adriatico?

00:48First, I go day by day. I have to see how the legs are. For me, it's important to have a good feeling.

00:55And then, I don't know, when I'm still there in GC, I will try the last day, but I really have to see day by day how I feel.

01:02What was the feeling in the first two stages?

01:05I mean, TT was quite good for me, for my performance, and then yesterday was quite an easy day.

01:11And today, I think it's the first day we really see how the legs are.

01:15And a good stage for you to win?

01:17It depends how they race. For sure, it will be very long, very cold, and then it's difficult to see how the legs react.

01:26But the last climb is hard. But it depends what other guys do.

01:31If it's going to be very hard, I think a small bunch arrive, and then maybe it's a good opportunity for me.

01:36But it's hard to predict what's happening today.

01:39Is it particularly hard because Mathieu van der Poel has announced that this is his goal today?

01:45I didn't actually hear this, but it's his goal.

01:48But for sure, when he's on the start, we see that the first race, he's in super good shape.

01:53It's very hard to beat him on this parkour.

02:02Yeah, I mean, every second counts, and at the end, I hope the race is not decided by one second.

02:13I mean, I think you cannot win the race, but you can lose it today.

02:16And it's going to be a very, very hard day.

02:18It's starting already to rain, and I think it's going to be cold.

02:22And yeah, it's super long, and I think on the downhills of these climbs, it's going to be quite cold.

02:28So it's going to be a very, very tough day.

02:30Do you like it when it's long?

02:32I mean, I prefer if it was sun, and I'll enjoy it quite a bit more.

02:38But yeah, as I said, I started off well prepared, with a lot of clothes, and I hope I can pass today.

02:44And ready to fight for the stage win?

02:46I don't know exactly how the finish will be.

02:49I don't know if we're going to arrive at a group of 100, or 50, or 10.

02:53I think it's going to all depend on, first on the temperature, on how much it rained,

02:59and then whoever wants to put the pace on the final climb.

03:05What are your hopes for this race?

03:08Yeah, I mean, I think just to finish as high up on the GC as possible.

03:11I think it's all about the process of learning GC, riding as a team, for that with eyes on the Giro.

03:18Is it an important stage today?

03:20For sure. I mean, besides the weather, which doesn't look so nice, it's long, it's a really interesting finish.

03:28Some people think it'll be a sprint, some people think it'll be a little more decisive.

03:32It's hard to tell, so those are always important stages.

03:35How important is it to race in Italy, a stage race, ahead of the Giro?

03:40Yeah, I love it here.

03:42It's nice to do a lot of the same roads, and just to get a feel for racing in Italy.

03:48It's a really nice way to start the season.

03:52Top 10 in Strade Bianche, was that expected?

03:55And what does it say about what you can do at Tirreno Adriatico?

03:59Yeah, what's expected was the goal.

04:02Even I expected a bit more, to be honest.

04:04But yeah, we are in really good shape, like in Strade and also here in Tirreno for sure.

04:10And we try to give out the best.

04:14Your first time racing Tirreno Adriatico.

04:16What do you know about this race?

04:18What are the hopes for yourself and for Jay Hindley, your teammate, who was top three last year?

04:23Yeah, for sure we have one of the biggest favorites like Jay.

04:29We try to bring him in the best possible position in GC for sure.

04:34And for my personal goals, I will try to give a shot at some stages.

04:40Today?

04:41Can be, can be.

04:44Do we understand that you were sick of training and hungry for racing?

04:48Not sick of training, but I was ready to race.

04:51So yeah, I'm happy to race again.

04:54Is it today the first day that you can race properly, which is race for the win?

04:58Yeah, I think so.

05:00It looks quite a hard stage, but I should be able to go to the finish line with the group.

05:07But we will see how the race develops.

05:09How important is it for you to do such a long stage today ahead of Milano-San Remo?

05:15We can also do long trainings, of course.

05:17But I think there are quite some longer stages this Torino, so it's a good preparation for sure.
