00:00Well, when it comes to watching movies and listening to music,
00:04we now partner with earphones and headphones.
00:08Since almost all of us love to watch and listen,
00:12this business is a hit.
00:13John ascended and Mark Javier succeeded.
00:17Let's find out his business journey with Dian Medina in Negosyo Tayo.
00:23You started at a very, very young age when you entered the business industry.
00:33So you were just 23 years old.
00:35So tell us what happened.
00:37That was 2018, I graduated from college.
00:40And then I was employed for two years.
00:42So by profession, I'm a customs broker.
00:45I started as an employee.
00:47And then after two years, I started my own customs brokerage company.
00:52with the international freight forwarding companies.
00:55I ventured until now because my company is stable, my logistics company.
01:00I ventured with the goods because we were in the services.
01:03But there's something about me because I'm not fond of music.
01:08I'm curious now, you're not into headphones, but your business is headphones.
01:13So what made you decide to sell headphones?
01:16I go abroad, I go to different countries.
01:18And I met the CEO, the owner of this headphone.
01:21What was the turning point in Sir Mark's life that,
01:24Okay, I will get out of my employee life, I will do business.
01:28Actually, that was a pandemic.
01:30Pandemic time, August 2020.
01:33So at that time, actually, there were a lot of pandemics.
01:37I was so anxious because my dream was so big.
01:41I still have a lot to achieve.
01:43And yet the pandemic came.
01:45At that time, actually, I ran out of my hard-earned money.
01:50I helped my family.
01:51I was the one who spent money before during the pandemic because they didn't have a job.
01:55And then I came back to Manila in August 2020.
01:58And then when I came back, actually, I was still in debt.
02:01But that's what I used too.
02:02I started a business.
02:04Actually, someone reached out to me, or someone talked to me,
02:08a medical importer.
02:10So which is the COVID test kits.
02:12So that's what really popped up before.
02:14My first shipment was only 15,000.
02:17Just to start.
02:19And then I earned 5,000.
02:20So it became 20,000.
02:22The client was happy with me because I was able to release it.
02:25I was given another shipment.
02:27I got my first million, Ms. Diane, when I was 23 years old.
02:31When you come here to the Philippines, are there any struggles or challenges?
02:35Because it's not easy to offer a new product.
02:39Especially for Filipinos, we know that they are very, very budgeted.
02:43And they always want an affordable one.
02:46Filipinos are price sensitive, right?
02:48So that's where I came in now.
02:50Because you can get this headphone, which is a quality headphone,
02:55with the affordable price.
02:57If they can't afford the top brands in the market,
03:00without compromising the quality.
03:02So more than doing business, you also have a lot of advocacies,
03:06projects to help other people.
03:08I'm a believer of education.
03:11So now, I have less than 10 scholars.
03:14So I partnered with the Philippine Heart Center
03:17because my mom, my mother, she passed away.
03:21It's because of heart disease.
03:23That's why it's really close to my heart
03:26that there are conditions or experiences about the heart.
