00:35Over 1,400 individuals were arrested for violating the gun ban in line with the upcoming 2025 midterm
00:43elections. According to the commission on elections, the authorities have been able to
00:48seize around 2,000 guns and a pile of deadly weapons. It has also confirmed eight election
00:54related violence and incidents, including the shooting of Datupiang Maguindanao del Sur Vice
00:59Mayor Omar Samama last week. Currently, there are 38 red category areas, of which 32 are in
01:06the Bangsa Moro Autonomous Region in Moslem, Mindanao, and 6 in Luzon and Visayas. Meanwhile,
01:12the poll body also sent a show-cause order to each of six senatorial candidates and to more
01:18than 30 party-list groups over possible violations of the Fair Elections Act,
01:23including the rules on campaign poster and ads.
01:27There are six candidates for senator and more than 34 party-list groups were sent
01:33a show-cause order. We are waiting for their response to our notice.
01:37Cumulant Chairman George Garcia also assured strict monitoring on candidates
01:42who use government resources to buy votes.

01:54The poll body is also coordinating with the Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas and Anti-Money
