00:00We're still here at the Esa Pico Power Monument
00:03for the 39th anniversary of the Esa Pico Power Revolution.
00:11This is where the program will be held
00:15for the anniversary that will start this 8am
00:20for the reef-laying activity and flag-raising.
00:23And later at 9am,
00:25there will be other activities for the Esa Pico Power Anniversary.
00:30In these moments, we can see that the Armed Forces of the Philippines are already rehearsing.
00:37And the National Historical Commission of the Philippines,
00:40Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, and MMDA are also here.
00:43And there are also sweepers here
00:45so that after the program,
00:50it will be clean here in this place.
00:53Of course, Mama Mary is also here
00:56as a symbol of the Esa Pico Power Revolution
00:59because during the prayer of Rosario,
01:00this revolution became peaceful.
01:04And at this point, we will be joined by Fr. Jerome Ceciliano,
01:08the rector of Archdiocesan Shrine of Mary Queen of Peace,
01:13to give us additional details regarding the program that will be held.
01:17Good morning to you, Fr. Jerome.
01:19Hi, Maris. Good morning to all the televiewers.
01:27First of all, Father, how important is it that we continue to pray?
01:31After 39 years, this is the Esa Pico Power Revolution.
01:35What is the significance of this during our time now?
01:38It is important to pray during the Esa Pico Power Revolution
01:41because it shows the Filipino people
01:44all over the world that we can be united.
01:48We are fighting for justice.
01:51We are fighting for the right.
01:54We are fighting for human rights.
01:57We are fighting for corruption.
01:59So, it is important for the new generation to see this
02:03so that we can be like them.
02:06We do not tolerate anything that is wrong.
02:09Instead, we should fight and move
02:12so that the wrongs that are happening in our society can be corrected.
02:19All right, Father.
02:21Earlier, we mentioned other activities that will be held
02:25like re-playing, flag-raising, and other programs.
02:28What specifically are the activities that you will be doing
02:32from your end, or your group, Father?
02:35Here at the National Shrine of Our Lady Queen of Peace,
02:40what we will be doing now is
02:43liturgical, sacramental activities
02:47like the worship of the Holy Mass.
02:49Today, we also want to highlight the faith component
02:54of the 1986 People Power.
02:58We often see the re-playing,
03:03the participation of politicians,
03:05but what we want here at the National Shrine of Our Lady Queen of Peace
03:10is the faith component of what happened during the revolution
03:15According to Cardinal Jaime Sin,
03:18there was an intervention of the Holy Virgin.
03:21You also mentioned that, Maris,
03:22that it was very important for the contribution, participation,
03:27and intervention of the Holy Virgin
03:29for us to have a peaceful and successful end to the revolution.
03:35So today, we are all here,
03:38we invited priests and bishops,
03:41and of course, we also invited the people of the country
03:43that this is how we recognize the Holy Virgin,
03:49and of course, our faith, and our Church,
03:53which was also a part of the 1986 People Power.
04:00Father, very quickly,
04:01as you are the spokesperson of the CBCP,
04:04Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines,
04:06do we have additional activities or messages to the Filipinos,
04:10especially now with Pope Francis' experience of a critical condition?
04:15Well, first of all, the Catholic Church is praying for Pope Francis.
04:22We are organizing our mass for his recovery.
04:26The dioceses or archdioceses throughout the Philippines,
04:30and also throughout the world, are organizing prayers.
04:34And we hope that the Lord will still give strength
04:40and that our Holy Father will recover.
04:44That is our hope,
04:45and we believe that Pope Francis will continue
04:51his guidance to the entire Catholic Church,
04:55and above all,
04:56that he will continue to govern and manage our Church.
05:04Alright, thank you very much for your time
05:06and for the information you gave us,
05:08Father Jerome Ceciliano,
05:10Rector of Archdiocesan Shrine of Mary, Queen of Peace.
05:13Happy Anniversary to all of us.
