00:00Wind signal number four is high in some parts of Cagayan due to the Marseille storm. We will talk to Rueli Rapsing, the head of Cagayan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office. Good morning again.
00:17Good morning to you and to all the viewers of your program.
00:22We will just talk about the current situation in Cagayan.
00:26Sir, here in Cagayan, our northern portion, our coastal municipalities are under signal number four and the rest of the province is signal number three.
00:40We are here in Gonzaga and we are experiencing a gustiness of 120 kilometers per hour of wind.
00:53Although in the rain, we are experiencing only a little bit of wind.
00:59Yesterday, there was a forced evacuation there, you said. So now, how many residents have been evacuated?
01:06Yes, it's still ongoing, sir. Although we received an initial report from 21 municipalities, more than 11,000 individuals have been evacuated.
01:21All of these are from your coastal areas?
01:24Yes sir. It's still ongoing because we didn't receive all of them the entire day. So our evacuation efforts are still ongoing.
01:38So now, Mr. Rapsing, are we still being evacuated at this time?
01:43Again sir?
01:44Until now, are we still being evacuated? Are we still being escorted by our countrymen at this time?
01:54Yes sir. Other municipalities are still continuing their evacuation efforts.
02:01In the evacuation center in Patubay, food, water and other necessities, can we still be helped there?
02:09Yes sir. There are still no requests for replenishment of our barangay and local government units from the provincial government.
02:21Somehow, when we contacted them through PIDRA, one of the assessments is their stockpile.
02:30Mr. Rapsing, have we experienced a resident who doesn't want to evacuate?
02:34Well there are some sir. But since this is a forced evacuation, we have our uniformed personnel with us so they can follow us.
02:46Okay. I will not bother you anymore. Your work is important. Thank you very much. PDRMO Head Rueli Rapsing. Take care.
02:56Thank you very much. To all of you, bye bye.
