00:10Three players in a race for our jackpot prize, but only one of them have the chance to claim it. Will anyone cross the finish line £10,000 richer today? Let's find out on Tipping Point.
00:30Hello and welcome to Tipping Point. Three players will be facing our machine and they're all hoping to win thousands today, so let's meet them.
00:44I'm Lauren, a residential care worker from Harrogate.
00:47I'm Taz, an IT consultant from Derby.
00:50And I'm Annie, a housewife from Bristol.
00:52Good luck to you all. Let's play Tipping Point.
00:55In round one, you each start with three counters. Questions are on the buzzer. If you buzz in and give me a correct answer, you'll have a choice to make.
01:02You can either choose to play one of your counters into the machine, or if you think the machine isn't quite ready, you can get one of your opponents to play one of theirs instead.
01:08Most of the counters you get out of the machine will add £50 to your score. That includes our mystery counters, which of course come with a bonus prize.
01:15But, also nestled in the machine, we do have two double counters.
01:19One of those falls for you. It will double the entire value of your drop.
01:22And should one fall with the jackpot counter at the end of the game, you'll be leaving £20,000 richer.
01:27Now, all three of you will be going through to play in round two, but you need to bank as much money as you can to stay in the game.
01:32So do keep an eye on those double counters, because they could make all the difference.
01:36Everybody ready? Yeah.
01:37Hands on your buzzers. Here comes your first question.
01:40From 1994 to 2007, former Prime Minister Tony Blair was the leader of which political party?
01:46Annie. Labour. Labour Party is right, Annie.
01:48Do you want to play or do you want to pass? I think I'll pass this one, please.
01:51OK, Titas or Lauren? Lauren.
01:53Right then, Lauren. Let's launch the machine and get you some money. Where do you want to go?
01:56Drop zone one, please, Ben. Let's have drop zone one.
01:59Drop zone one.
02:06Down and settles over on the right.
02:09Anything coming here?
02:11Oh, no, sadly not.
02:13Just a little split on those two columns of counters and nothing comes out.
02:16Here's your next question.
02:1819th century Quaker John Cadbury is best known for founding a company that produces what sweet confectionery?
02:24Taz. Chocolate.
02:26Chocolate is right, Taz. Of course it is.
02:28Would you like to play or would you like to pass?
02:30I think I'd like to play, please, Ben. Where shall we go?
02:32Drop zone one, please. Fire up one for Taz.
02:45Ooh, hammers and basterds.
02:47Ricochets over to the left side of the machine, so not near where Lauren's were,
02:51but a couple across the top shelf.
02:53What about the tipping point?
02:55Nothing just yet.
02:57OK, they're building nicely, though.
02:59Oh, and then you've got some on the top that have dropped.
03:01These will still be yours, Taz, if anything goes.
03:05So nothing from your first counter.
03:06Here's your next question.
03:08In February 2022, the Netflix drama miniseries that became the platform's top-rated English language show is Inventing Who?
03:16Taz. Anna.
03:17Anna is right.
03:19Are you going to play, Taz?
03:20I think we'll go for drop zone one again, please.
03:21Let's do it. Fire up one.
03:27Ooh.
03:33I'll go flat.
03:34Stay down. Is it going to go flat?
03:36It should do. I think there's enough space.
03:38The question is, can we get enough of a nudge?
03:40I'm not getting anything over, yeah.
03:42The silver and black one you want on the right.
03:44Go on, go on, go on.
03:45Yes, there you go.
03:46There we go.
03:47Just peeled them off.
03:49There's a bit of a gap.
03:50Ooh!
03:51That's a lucky drop, Taz.
03:53Another lucky drop.
03:55Ten counters there, Taz.
03:56Fair bit of work had gone into that.
03:57You got the benefit, £500.
03:59Let's take it and put it into your bank.
04:00You've still got one counter left to play.
04:02Next question for everybody.
04:04Nibblings is a gender-neutral term used to refer to either a nephew or which other relative?
04:09Lauren.
04:10Niece.
04:11Niece is right.
04:12Lauren, would you like to play or would you like to pass?
04:14I'm going to pass, please.
04:15OK, to Taz or Annie?
04:16To Taz.
04:17Right, Taz, your last counter.
04:19A little bit of tactical passing going on here.
04:22Nicely done by Lauren.
04:23Where do you want to go?
04:24I think we'll go for drop zone three.
04:26Right, let's have drop zone three for Taz.
04:30Ooh!
04:34Not the best release time, but it has gone flat.
04:38And maybe...
04:39Might push something over.
04:40Yeah, the mystery.
04:41I think that's the one you're looking at there, Taz.
04:42Yeah, it could be.
04:43Go on, now.
04:44Yeah, just...
04:46But is the tipping point ready?
04:48No, no, not good yet.
04:49Passed by Lauren.
04:50That was your last counter, Taz.
04:51So for the time being, you've used all three, so you're out.
04:53So, Lauren, you've got two counts left.
04:55Annie, you've still got all three of yours.
04:57Next question is for the two of you.
05:04Annie.
05:05Harry Redknapp.
05:06It is Harry Redknapp.
05:07Yes, the gaffer.
05:08Annie, are you going to play or are you going to pass?
05:10I'll try drop zone three as well, please.
05:12Let's see what happens.
05:13Fire at three.
05:18Good, quick drop and a nice settle there, Annie.
05:20Nicely timed.
05:22There's a couple going alongside that mystery bit of a gap there.
05:26Yeah.
05:27So nothing from your first count.
05:29Next question for you and Lauren.
05:37Lauren.
05:38B.
05:39B is right.
05:40Are you going to play this time?
05:41I'm going to go for drop zone two, please, Ben.
05:44All right, interesting.
05:45Second drop zone two, please.
05:48Let's see if drop zone two can do the damage you need.
05:58OK, it lands nice and flat.
06:04Never easy to start a new drop zone.
06:06Interesting choice.
06:08So nothing from that counter.
06:10You've got one left to play.
06:11Here's your next question.
06:18Charts the history and culture around which caffeinated beverage?
06:22Lauren.
06:23Coffee.
06:24It is coffee, yes.
06:25Are you going to play, Lauren?
06:26Drop zone two, please.
06:27Let's see if it works this time.
06:28Five to up.
06:38OK, so a bit further right.
06:39What do you think, Lauren?
06:40It's not quite where I wanted it, but I'll see if it gets anything over.
06:43It's a double maybe.
06:44Oh, yes, now it looks better, doesn't it?
06:46But is the tipping point ready?
06:48A couple have dropped there, Lauren.
06:49Just keep an eye on that little cluster in two, though.
06:52They look like they might go.
06:59And they have.
07:00And there's a black count on three that's on the verge.
07:06And there's that black count that has just settled.
07:08Just riding, though.
07:10Five in total for you there, Lauren.
07:12£250.
07:13We'll take it and put it into your bank.
07:15Not too bad in the end, £250.
07:17You have now used all three counters, the time being you are out.
07:20Right then, Annie, it's just you.
07:21You don't need to use your buzzer.
07:22You do need to give the correct answer to both these questions
07:24to put the counters into the machine.
07:26Here we go then, Annie.
07:36NASA?
07:37It is NASA, yes.
07:38Right, where shall we put this first one?
07:40Drop zone three looks quite good, please, Ben.
07:42I'll try that.
07:43Let's do drop zone three.
07:45Drop zone three.
07:54Oh, quick drop.
07:56Not quite where I wanted it, but...
07:57No, let's see.
07:58If we're getting something over the top shelf, hopefully...
08:00Ooh, Annie!
08:01..a couple there.
08:04And it's that black counter.
08:06Just fell too deep on the shove.
08:07Yeah.
08:08OK, one more left.
08:09Again, you need to give me the correct answer
08:11to put it into the machine.
08:12Here's your last question.
08:14It's a title in a series of Belgian comics
08:16about which young reporter and his dog Snowy?
08:22Pass.
08:23Tintin.
08:24It's Tintin, Annie.
08:25Yeah.
08:26Pressure on you with that last one.
08:27You have to give me a correct answer.
08:28You didn't, so I have to steal your counter.
08:30That's gone into the panel spot.
08:31Yeah.
08:32So, as things stand, Taz is £500, Lauren £250,
08:34and he's got nothing in the bank.
08:36But it's not over.
08:37There is now one counter up for grabs in the panel spot.
08:39I'm going to ask you all one more question.
08:42If you give me a wrong answer, you will be frozen out.
08:44Wait a minute, Annie.
08:45You just put it in there.
08:46You need to try and win it back if you can,
08:47see if we can get you some money.
08:48Good luck, everybody.
08:49Here comes your panel spot question.
08:55Lauren.
08:5612.
08:57On an analogue clock.
08:58You're absolutely right, Lauren.
08:59Well done.
09:00Took a risk going for it, and it's paid off.
09:01You get the panel spot counter.
09:02Let's see if we can get you some money.
09:03Where do you want to play?
09:04I'm going to try and get that bit off the top shelf, please.
09:06So I'll go for drop zone two, please, Ben.
09:08You love a bit of drop zone two, Lauren, don't you?
09:10I know.
09:11Far up two, please.
09:13And get it on the right-hand side.
09:15Maybe we can get it a double as well,
09:16and this certainly feels like it could be effective.
09:24Oh, that's not far away, is it?
09:27Can you get enough of a nudge?
09:31Oh, not the bit you wanted, but a little bit further over.
09:34A little bit.
09:35Ooh.
09:36Ah, sadly not.
09:37Nothing drops for you.
09:38So the score's there as they were at the end of the round.
09:40Taz is leading with £500, Lauren has £250,
09:43and he's got nothing in the bank just yet.
09:45So join us after the break to see which of today's three players
09:47will win through to our head-to-head
09:49and a shot at our £10,000 jackpot.
09:50See you in a bit.
10:03Welcome back to Tipping Point, where Lauren, Taz and Annie
10:05are battling it out for the right to play for today's jackpot.
10:07In this round, they'll each have 45 seconds
10:09to answer as many questions as possible.
10:11Every correct answer will win them a chance to play into the machine.
10:13However, this time, the player with the lowest score
10:15at the end of the round will be leaving the game.
10:17Taz, you are leading after round one, so you get to choose.
10:19You can play first, or you can ask Lauren or Annie to play.
10:22The bottom looks like it's about to tip in two and three,
10:24so I think I'll play.
10:25Let's do it. 45 seconds for you, Taz.
10:27Every time you get a question right, I'll give you a chance.
10:29If you don't know, just say pass, OK?
10:3045 seconds for Taz, please.
10:32Your time starts now.

11:23by which alternative rock band, did you know?
11:25No, I don't know that one. Placebo.
11:27Three correct answers in there, Taz.
11:29Not too bad. Three counts put into the machine, yeah, not bad.
11:32And an opportunity to extend your lead over Lauren and Annie.
11:35So where are you thinking to go with your first count?
11:37Drop zone three looks like it might give way at the top.
11:40Drop zone three? Yeah, let's go for it.
11:42Power it up, please.
11:55It's not too bad.
11:57If I can get that down...
12:00Oh, just pinned. Just pinned.
12:02That's OK. Still got two more to go in.
12:04Staying with three, Taz? Yeah, let's stick with three.
12:06Three again.
12:13Ooh. Now, is that going to go flat for you, Taz?
12:16Hoping it does.
12:18Oh, it is, yes.
12:20Now, get anything through and over the top shelf.
12:23Little lateral coming left as well, maybe.
12:26Just filling the gaps, isn't it? Just filling the gaps.
12:28Top shelf's filling up very nicely, but are you filling it for the girls
12:31or are you filling it for yourself? One more to go in here, Taz.
12:34Stick with drop zone three, please. Three again.
12:37Is it going to drop this time?
12:47Rattles down.
12:49Not far from the last one. What do you think?
12:51Hopefully it should peak. There you go.
12:54I think we might get a bit more action here.
12:59Oh, yes, you did. We want to leave a few there,
13:01but very nice in the end, Taz.
13:03Seven counters, in fact.
13:05£350, not too bad.
13:07Let's take it from the machine, put it into your bank.
13:09That's going to leave you on £850.
13:11Right then, Lauren, you are ahead of Annie, so it's your choice now.
13:13You can play next or you can ask Annie to play.
13:15I will play, please. All right, then.
13:1745 seconds for Lauren, please.
13:19Your time starts now.

14:09That was terrible.
14:11Oh, Lauren, one correct answer.
14:13Do you drive, Lauren? I do.
14:15OK, now that's a worry.
14:17Closely, Lauren.
14:19The left, but I heard you say Japan,
14:21and I didn't know whether it was different.
14:23I kind of blanked after Japan.
14:25Yeah, so you heard the bit where I went,
14:27all vehicles in Japan, Ireland and the United Kingdom.
14:29You missed all of those three important countries.
14:31Yeah.
14:33And that last question, actually, you jumped in
14:35because I think you knew that you were running out of time.
14:37Which popular soft drink manufacturer was the official sponsor
14:39of the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show?
14:41And it's Pepsi, not Coke.
14:43You have got one,
14:45but there's a fair few waiting to be plucked
14:47from the tipping point. The question is, can you get them?
14:49I feel like if I go for drop zone three,
14:51it'll drop right to the left,
14:53where there seems to be a bit of a gap. Yep.
14:55I'm going to trust what I've done so far
14:57and go for drop zone two, please, Ben. OK.
14:59Drop zone two, please.
15:03You need to get as many as you can.
15:05Try and catch Taz, but also put a bit of pressure on Annie.
15:09You can go right,
15:11I know exactly what you're thinking,
15:13but there's a bit of pressure on her there, isn't there?
15:15That will do.
15:17You need enough traction, though.
15:19Oh, just!
15:21Going to move the double forward.
15:25Oh, well done, Lauren.
15:27Good choice.
15:29With just the one counter, six is a really good return,
15:31and that's what went over the tipping point.
15:33£300 there, Lauren. Let's take it, put it into your bank.
15:35That's going to leave you with £550.
15:37Right then, Annie, we come to you. OK.
15:3945 seconds for Annie, please.

16:29I think we're a little out of time, but not to worry.
16:31Three correct answers in there, Annie.
16:33Three counters put into the machine.
16:35You want to try and catch Lauren.
16:37Seven counts ahead of you. I know.
16:39Certainly enough in there. What are you thinking, tactics-wise?
16:41I'm thinking two or three
16:43might be OK, so I'm going to
16:45start, I think, with drop zone three,
16:47please, Ben. Let's have drop zone three.
16:51Bit of a sketchy top shelf, isn't it?
16:53That was what Lauren was worried about.
16:55We've got enough maybe to fill it.
16:59That side could work.
17:01It does slide and skid out nicely.
17:03Now, then.
17:05There's a couple of clusters that could get a little help.
17:07And they do.
17:09Four counters drop in, Annie. You're on your way.
17:11£200. Takes a little slice
17:13out of Lauren's lead. Two more to go in.
17:15I think I'll stick with drop zone
17:17three and hope it goes over to the right.
17:19Zone three again.
17:21It went right last time. Can it go this time?
17:25Yeah, drop and roll.
17:27Gets there. Hopefully.
17:29I'm going to split them.
17:31Go, go, go!
17:33We're looking for seven now.
17:37It's going to be close. Annie needed
17:39seven more to catch Lauren. That's
17:41nine more across the tipping point. That's going to put you
17:43through. Well done. Takes you to £650.
17:45Sadly, Lauren, that means we're going to
17:47lose you at the end of the round as well. That's OK.
17:49One more to put in here, Annie. Now we're trying to reel
17:51in Taz, and he's only four counters
17:53ahead of you. Can he go from last to first with this drop?
17:55I'm going to try this time, I think,
17:57for drop zone two.
17:59Do it.
18:01Can you complete this turnaround?
18:07Not quite where I wanted it, but... Might work.
18:09Might do. If the top shelf wants to go.
18:11Please. It does.
18:13Do that.
18:15Can you get the four you need?
18:19One more sneaks out, Annie. Let's give you another £50.
18:21Can't quite topple Taz,
18:23but it's certainly going to put you through. Let's take
18:25£700 and put it in your bank, and that means at the end
18:27of the round, Taz is leading with £850,
18:29Annie goes through with £700.
18:31Lauren, I'm so sorry, that means with £550,
18:33we have found your tipping point. Thank you for playing.
18:35Thank you. It's been lovely to meet you, Lauren.
18:37So it's Taz and Annie who will be going head-to-head
18:39after the break for the right to play for our £10,000 jackpot,
18:41now that it's your chance to win an amazing cash prize.
18:58Calls cost £2 plus your network access charge.
19:23Welcome back to Tipping Point, where just two players remain,
19:25Taz and Annie.
19:27Well done to both of you for getting this far.
19:29We're about to find out which one of you is going to take on the machine
19:31for our jackpot today. That was a great comeback there, Annie.
19:33It was, wasn't it? In the last round, yes.
19:35I praised myself.
19:37You've done a cracking job.
19:39You're only £150 short of Taz as well,
19:41and there's still a lot of money in the machine.
19:43Both are doubles on the bottom shelf as well,
19:45so this could go either way.
19:47Annie, you're a grandma. How many grandkids have you got?
19:49I've got five grandchildren and another one on the way.
19:51Wow. Yeah, it will be six.
19:53And are they excited about you coming on Tipping Point?
19:55Did they know? Did you tell them?
19:57Oh, yeah, they all knew and they were very excited,
19:59especially my eldest granddaughter.
20:01Did she give you any advice before you came, though, Annie?
20:03Not really, and if she did, I wouldn't have taken it.
20:05That says a lot.
20:07It's intriguing, though, because you're a lovely,
20:09obviously, granny to all of your grandkids,
20:11but you're also into shooting as well.
20:13I do. I love shooting, yeah. We do clay pigeon shooting.
20:15Clay pigeon shooting? Yeah.
20:17And you've got your own gun?
20:19I have a pink 12-4 shotgun.
20:21A 12-4 shotgun? Yeah, it's a real one.
20:23That's sensational. Well, you've been bang on target until now.
20:25Yeah.
20:27Taz is certainly aware of how well you've been shooting, Annie,
20:29and if you carry on, you could well be playing for our jackpot,
20:31so good luck to you. Thank you very much.
20:33Well done, Taz. Hold on to your lead in that first and second round.
20:35You're still leading going into the round.
20:37Your mum, I think, is a big fan of the show.
20:39Is that right? Yeah, my mum and the mother-in-law.
20:41Right.
20:43They're all fans of the show. They watch it every day.
20:45So they'll be very excited about you being on today, Taz.
20:47They are excited for me, I think.
20:49They're nervous for me as well, I would have to say.
20:51You've set yourself quite a challenge to learn some new things.
20:53You're learning to swim now, is that right, Taz?
20:55I am learning to swim now at the age of 31, 32.
20:57What happened? How did you never learn to swim?
20:59I've just never had the opportunity at school.
21:01Yeah. And I never kind of
21:03took it through all the way.
21:05I got a certificate for floating.
21:07That's about as far as I've got.
21:09And then I just didn't get anywhere else with it.
21:11So, yeah, I need to learn how to swim.
21:13Clearly you were very buoyant as a child, Taz.
21:15There we go. Which is a skill in many ways.
21:17Very buoyant here as well, because you are still leading.
21:19If you can carry on battling the machine like you have been,
21:21then you'll be playing for our jackpot as well, Taz.
21:23So best of luck to both of you.
21:27In this round, you're each going to be asked three questions alternately.
21:29On your question, you can choose to answer, or you can pass it to your opponent.
21:31Give me a correct answer, you put the counter into the machine.
21:33If you give me a wrong answer, your opponent puts the counter into the machine.
21:35Whoever has the most money at the end of this round
21:37will be today's winner.
21:39They'll be playing for our jackpot.
21:41You are still leading, Taz, so you get to choose.
21:43We've got the first question.
21:45You can pass it to Annie.
21:47The bottom shelf looks quite full, so I think I'll take the question first.
21:49OK, first one for you, Taz.
21:51The video for which UK top ten hit
21:53by Taylor Swift features cameos
21:55from Selena Gomez, Zendaya
21:57and Gigi Hadid?
21:59You can pass if you're not sure.
22:01Taylor Swift is probably not my strongest point.
22:03I think I'll pass this one.
22:05Passing it over? Right, then, Annie.
22:07You've got how many grandkids? Five.
22:09Are any of them into pop music?
22:11Yeah, the older ones are.
22:13I don't think it's ringing any bells.
22:15But Nanny's not.
22:17OK, Nanny's not.
22:19The video for which UK top ten hit by Taylor Swift
22:21features cameos from Selena Gomez, Zendaya
22:23and Gigi Hadid?
22:25I've got to give you an answer, so I'll just say Umbrella,
22:27but I know it's not right.
22:29Taz, do you have any Taylor Swift songs you have in mind?
22:31I know one or two, but the names just...
22:33OK, let's see what the answer is.
22:35Annie's given me Umbrella.
22:39The song's called Bad Blood.
22:41Yeah.
22:43Right, Taz, you get the counter, cos Annie was wrong.
22:45It was a nice pass. So where shall we put it?
22:47I think we'll stick with drop zone two.
22:49Let's see if I can get anything over the top.
22:51Drop zone two, please.
22:57Flies down and settles nicely.
22:59Not too bad.
23:01Is the top shelf going to work?
23:03Yes, yes.
23:05Oh, they've separated as well.
23:07Nice start.
23:09Taz, there's a cracking drop,
23:11including the one that jumped out of the machine, Taz.
23:13£450, let's take it and put it into your bank.
23:15It's going to put you on £1,300.
23:17Right, Annie, we come to you. Time for your first question.
23:25You can pass if you're not sure.
23:27I think I know this one. Sunday?
23:29Going to go with Sunday.
23:31Let's see if Annie's right.
23:33Is the answer Sunday?
23:35Yeah, absolutely.
23:37Apparently it comes completely unchanged from the original Latin form,
23:39meaning Day of God, Domenica.
23:41Good answer, Annie, well done.
23:43You get the counter. Let's see if we can close this gap.
23:45Now, there's doubles on the bottom of two,
23:47and then four.
23:49What are you thinking?
23:51Four looks quite good.
23:53I might chance it. I might just go for four.
23:55Let's do it. One ball, please.
23:57Not being used yet. There's plenty in there.
23:59If we can get it on the right and get that double going forward...
24:01I need to start trying to close the gap on Taz.
24:07Settle nicely, it does.
24:09Bring that pair down.
24:11Go on.
24:13Oh, Annie, hard luck.
24:15It was the right choice.
24:17Just the machine had a little bit of space that we couldn't see.
24:19OK, come back to you, Taz.
24:21Time for your second question.
24:31You can pass if you're not sure.
24:33I don't know if Annie will know this one.
24:35She might do.
24:37She's got the poker face, but I think I'll play.
24:39You're going to play? OK.
24:41I'd say BBC Radio 5.
24:43Radio 5? OK.
24:45Annie, did you have any ideas?
24:47No.
24:49I would have probably gone Radio 2.
24:51You might have gone Radio 2.
24:53Taz has gone with Radio 5.
24:55We're looking for...
25:01Radio 5.
25:05Radio 4.
25:07Radio 5 launched in 1990,
25:09so considerably later.
25:11Annie, it was a gift from Taz.
25:13Literally, you went for it, it was wrong,
25:15and you get the counter. What do you reckon?
25:17OK, I might stick with Drop Zone 4, I think.
25:19Yeah, we've started the hard work now.
25:21Let's do it, fire up 4.
25:23Let's see what happens.
25:31Now, that's the ones you've just left.
25:33Can we stay on them?
25:35We can. And a bit more in the middle.
25:37Yes. Always good to attack on two fronts, Annie.
25:41And a nice drop too.
25:43Five counters for you there, Annie.
25:45£250.
25:47Let's take it and put it into a bank.
25:49Takes a nice chunk out of Taz's lead.
25:51You keep control as well. Time for your second question.
26:01You can pass if you're not sure.
26:03But I can't hazard a guess,
26:05so I'm going to pass it over to Taz and he can have it.
26:07Bit of a gift. Do you like your films, Taz?
26:09I'm just trying to work out what films were released in 2022
26:13that are semi-autobiographical.
26:17Can't really think of anything off the top of my head at all.
26:19I'll just go with...
26:21Malcolm X.
26:23Malcolm X. OK, you've got to give me something.
26:25Annie, could you think of any that were released
26:27around that time that would have won an award
26:29with any headlines?
26:31No, not really. Top Gun.
26:33Top Gun.
26:35Semi-autobiographical.
26:37That's something we didn't know about Kenny Banner.
26:39His life as a fast jet pilot.
26:41I really have no idea.
26:43Let's see if you're right, Taz.
26:45Was it Malcolm X?
26:49No, that was Spike Lee, 1992. It was Belfast.
26:51Belfast, not seen it.
26:53I saw that too. You saw it?
26:55Absolutely stunning. Shot in black and white.
26:57Annie, you get the counter.
26:59Taz was wrong. So where do you want to go?
27:01I'm going to stick with drop zone four, I think.
27:03Yes, do it.
27:11Yes!
27:13Can we get something over the top?
27:15That little extra stash would have been nice.
27:17There's a little cluster. Good go.
27:19Oh, no!
27:21I might just tease you, Annie. Nothing drops.
27:23Taz, we come back to you. Time for your third and final question.
27:27Until the end of World War II,
27:29Germany's highest medal for bravery in battle
27:31was a cross made mostly of which metal?
27:35You can pass if you're not sure.
27:37Of course, I can't think of anything.
27:39I think I'll just pass this one.
27:41OK, Annie, can we try and steal?
27:43Until the end of World War II,
27:45Germany's highest medal for bravery in battle
27:47was a cross made mostly of which metal?
27:49I can't really think of any.
27:51But I'm just thinking maybe gold,
27:53because it's quite a high medal.
27:55The highest medal for bravery, so gold.
27:57Could be a gold medal. Seems like it would be fitting.
27:59Let's see if Annie's right.
28:01Is the answer gold?
28:05No, it's iron. I don't know if you've heard of it.
28:07It's called the Iron Cross.
28:09So, Taz, you get the counter. Annie was wrong.
28:11Where shall we go? We'll stick with drops of war.
28:13Got to be four, hasn't it? Fire it up, please.
28:15Ooh!
28:23Ooh, stays up.
28:25Is it going to be flat?
28:27I'm sure it is, you know.
28:29Ooh, he got it down.
28:31That could take out that little stash with the mystery.
28:33It should do.
28:35If they all go, it could be lucrative for you.
28:37Oh, there's a little pocket of space there, Taz.
28:39Very cruel.
28:41But leaves you there, Annie,
28:43with one last chance.
28:45Control comes to you. Time for your third and final question.
28:49With a coastline on the North Sea,
28:51what is the most northerly English county?
28:53Now, you can play or you can pass
28:55if you're not sure.
28:57I know where the North is.
28:59You know where the North is?
29:01Yeah, I know where the North is.
29:03I'll pass it, cos I'm not sure.
29:05You're going to pass it? Yeah.
29:07OK, so, Taz,
29:09with a coastline on the North Sea,
29:11what is the most northerly English county?
29:13What are your thoughts?
29:15Counties, I'm just trying to think of anything
29:17that's quite high up north.
29:19Or, like, I think I was kind of...
29:21Oxfordshire, is that a county?
29:23I don't know. That's south.
29:25Erm...
29:27I can't think of anything up north,
29:29so I'll just have to take a stab and go with Oxfordshire.
29:31Oxfordshire, you've got to give me something.
29:33Annie, what were you thinking? Durham, County Durham.
29:35You were thinking County Durham, OK.
29:37Has Taz got this right? He's not convinced.
29:39Is the answer Oxfordshire?
29:43It's not Oxfordshire, it's not County Durham either.
29:45Oh!
29:47It's Northumberland, County Durham's just below it.
29:49So it's a good thing you passed that, Annie.
29:51Cos you allowed Taz to get it wrong,
29:53which means you've got one last crack.
29:55We need seven to catch him. Where shall we go?
29:57Drop Zone 4 looks like it might work this time.
29:59It's had enough chances, hasn't it?
30:01Shall we do it? I think we'll go for Drop Zone 4, please.
30:03Fire it up, please.
30:09Fire it up, please.
30:19Oh!
30:21Come on, now.
30:23B flat.
30:25You want that mystery counter and the others down,
30:27so we need a bit of lateral here, ideally.
30:29Yeah.
30:31Don't know if it's going to work.
30:33Oh, a couple have peeled themselves over.
30:35Can we get towards the double? We need seven.
30:37Oh, Annie, no!
30:39Never mind. Oh, hard luck.
30:41Sadly, the machine wasn't willing to give up any more of the counters,
30:44so the scores stay as they were, and that means at the end of the round,
30:47Taz, you are today's winner with £1,300.
30:49Very well played by you. Thank you very much.
30:51Congratulations. Annie, you battled so hard.
30:53Really, really impressive stuff, but I'm afraid with £950,
30:56you have found your tipping point. Thank you for playing.
30:58Thank you very much, Ben. I've had a lovely day.
31:00So Taz is our champion. In a few moments,
31:02I'm going to ask you to put this jackpot counter into the machine.
31:04This one's bigger and better than all the others.
31:06If you get this one out, you're going to go home with £10,000.
31:09Can Taz master the machine by finding a jackpot tipping point?
31:11We'll find out after the break.
31:13Now that it's your chance to win an amazing cash prize.
31:36Welcome back to the final part of Tipping Point.
31:56Taz is our winner today and has managed to get £1,300.
31:59Well done. Kind of clinging on at the end there, weren't you?
32:02I was a little bit, yeah.
32:04You've beaten up all the others, though.
32:06The machine has smiled on you along the way,
32:08and now it's just you and the chance to go home with our jackpot.
32:10Have you thought about what you might like to do with the money
32:12if we get the jackpot counter out?
32:14Yeah, so me and the missus have just bought a house,
32:16so we should probably do it on furnishing.
32:18But I'll probably be booking a flight to Mexico, to be honest.
32:20Is that somewhere you'd like to go together on a nice holiday?
32:22Yeah.
32:24A few more swimming lessons as well if you go to Mexico.
32:26Well, hopefully, yeah. I should know how to swim by the time I get to Mexico.
32:28Yeah, a great way of celebrating, wouldn't it?
32:30But if we could send the two of you off to have a fabulous holiday,
32:32why don't we just do up some of the new house?
32:34That would be great. That's the best of luck.
32:36Time to find out whether Taz is going to win our jackpot.
32:38In a few moments, I'm going to ask you to put the jackpot counter into the machine.
32:40If you want to go home with £10,000, you just need to get it out again.
32:42We do still have two doubles in the machine, though.
32:44If you get the jackpot to four with one of them,
32:46you'd leave with £20,000.
32:48Here's how you're going to do it, Taz.
32:50I'm going to show you six question categories.
32:52For each category, you choose to play one, two, or three counts into the machine.
32:54The more you play four, the harder the question's going to be.
32:56The more you win, the better your chances of getting the jackpot counter out.
32:58What you do need to do, though, is put the jackpot counter into the machine.
33:00What are your thoughts there, Taz?
33:02I'm thinking drop zone four, because the double's there,
33:04you've got a mystery there,
33:06so I think drop zone four's a sensible choice.
33:08Let's do it. Mark four, please.
33:10So when you're ready, let's get this jackpot counter in
33:12and see what we're up against.
33:20OK.
33:22Rattles down. Hectic drop.
33:24Settles pretty central. There you go.
33:26The counters have been waiting to drop for a while.
33:28The double's going to get close.
33:30Ooh.
33:32Five across the tipping point for you there, Taz.
33:34£250.
33:36One of them is the double. That's slid in.
33:38So we can double it up and give you another £250.
33:40Takes you up to £1,800.
33:42You've got your jackpot counter just on the centre of drop zone four.
33:44Let's have a look at your categories, then.
33:46This is what we've got for you.
33:48Music, human body, geography, film, sport and children's literature.
33:50You can play them in any order you like.
33:52So when you're ready, where shall we start and how many?
33:54Might as well go top-bottom,
33:56so we'll start with music for two.
33:58OK. We're going to start with music for two, please.
34:08So I can rule out One Direction right away.
34:12I've not heard of Slade,
34:14so the Boomtown Rats
34:16is the one that's screaming at me.
34:18So I'll go with the Boomtown Rats, please.
34:20Boomtown Rats? Yes, please.
34:22I'm going to go with Boomtown Rats, please.
34:24So One Direction, yes, we feel like we can rule that out.
34:26You've never heard of Slade.
34:28I haven't heard of Slade and for some reason
34:30I've heard of the Boomtown Rats.
34:32Well, let's see if you're right.
34:34Is Bob Geldof the lead singer of the Boomtown Rats?
34:36Yeah!
34:38Absolutely right.
34:40OK. Drop zone four?
34:42Yeah, let's stick with drop zone four.
34:44Drop zone four, please.
34:52Oh, go on.
34:54Oh, stuck there with the jackpot.
34:56B-flat, B-flat.
34:58It is.
35:00That's a great start.
35:02It's a good drop.
35:04Yeah, come on, stay on it.
35:06If we get that moving forward,
35:08don't go too far left, don't go too far left.
35:10Yep.
35:12Might get some off the bottom.
35:14That's the drop you're waiting for.
35:16Eight across seven point, £400 goes in.
35:18That takes up to £2,200.
35:20One more to go in as well, Taz.
35:22Drop zone four again?
35:24Yeah, let's stick with drop zone four.
35:26Load it up, please.
35:32Maybe two to the right.
35:34Yeah.
35:36We can take that stack of silver counters down, though.
35:38Yep.
35:40Hopefully we can get a bit out on the tipping.
35:42Yep.
35:46Just flipped over.
35:48Yeah, there's a couple on the edge, isn't there? You're right.
35:50There you go.
35:52Another £100 for those two. Money goes up nicely.
35:54£2,300.
35:56We've already got the jackpot counter on the edge of the top shelf.
35:58Cracking start. Back to the categories.
36:00Human bodies next on the list.
36:02Human body...
36:04Let's go for three.
36:06Human body for three.
36:08What name is given to a surgeon
36:10who specialises in procedures of the heart,
36:12lungs and other organs in the chest?
36:14Paediatric, orthopaedic or cardiothoracic?
36:18I should be able to rule out one straight away.
36:20Orthopaedic.
36:22OK.
36:24I believe that's lower body,
36:26around the feet.
36:28Paediatric, that doesn't sound right.
36:30And cardiothoracic,
36:32I think because of cardio.
36:34I think that would be the one,
36:36so I'll stick with cardiothoracic, please.
36:38Let's go cardiothoracic, then.
36:40Let's see if you're right.
36:42One of the three counters.
36:44Is the answer cardiothoracic?
36:48Yes.
36:50Orthopaedic is the musculoskeletal system.
36:52Right, OK.
36:54So not necessarily lower body, it can be all over,
36:56but cardiothoracic is in your chest and your lungs
36:58and all that sort of malarkey. OK.
37:00Drop zone four? Yeah, let's stick with drop zone four, please.
37:02Power it up.
37:04Right, let's get that jackpot counter moving, if you can.
37:12OK.
37:14Now, that could just shove it a little bit further left.
37:18Can you get enough to get...
37:20Oh, you little so-and-so.
37:22It was going to happen sooner or later.
37:24OK, OK, OK.
37:26Right, two more to go here.
37:28Four again? Yeah, drop zone four, please.
37:30Yes.
37:40Bit of a fast drop there.
37:42It was really fast.
37:44Can we get a little... No, you might want to push it back a touch.
37:46There you go. Couple over the top.
37:48That moved the mystery forward, which is nice.
37:52Couple drop in. It's going to be £100.
37:54Takes £2,400.
37:56And one more to go in.
37:58Four up, please.
38:04Has that come back far enough?
38:06Hopefully. Hopefully it's come back far enough.
38:08Taz, go on, Taz, go on, Taz.
38:10Oh, that's just a gut there.
38:12Little teaser, Taz.
38:14Tazzy teaser.
38:16Hanging over the edge of the top shelf, though.
38:18It's going in the right direction, isn't it?
38:20You're doing everything you can so far. Let's go back to the categories.
38:22So, next as we go down.
38:24Geography. How are you feeling about geography?
38:26It's not my best.
38:28But I can probably try and work it out.
38:30I think we'll go for...
38:32three.
38:34Geography for three.
38:46Aquamania.
38:48Marine, water life.
38:50That kind of points out to me.
38:52I think I'll go with Aquamania.
38:54Aquamania, yeah?
38:56Yeah, and we'll take a stab in the dark there.
38:58We're going to go with Aquamania.
39:00Let's see if you're right.
39:02Was Melbourne once briefly known as Aquamania?
39:06No, it was Batmania.
39:08It was in my head.
39:10Named after the founder, John Batman.
39:12Right, OK. OK, let's go back to the categories.
39:14Yeah. Film is next.
39:16Yeah, let's go film. I mean...
39:18You like your films.
39:20I like my films, but it could be anything that pops up there.
39:22I'll play it safe with a two.
39:24Film for two.
39:26In the James Bond film Live And Let Die,
39:28Jade Seymour's character
39:30shares her name with which card game?
39:32Patience, Solitaire or Canasta?
39:34Have you seen Live And Let Die?
39:36I have.
39:38Right, OK.
39:40A while ago, though.
39:42Do you remember her character?
39:44Yeah, I do remember her character,
39:46and I'm just trying to think of scenes with her in it.
39:48Canasta doesn't sound right,
39:50just doesn't sound right, so...
39:52Patience.
39:54We're going to go with Patience.
39:56Something's telling you it was Patience, let's see.
39:58Is it Patience?
40:00BUZZER
40:02Solitaire. Solitaire, wow, OK.
40:04Solitaire was the name.
40:06OK, let's go back to the categories.
40:08We've got sports and children's literature, Taz.
40:10Erm...
40:12We'll go sport and we'll go two.
40:14Sport for two, please.
40:16If someone is completing the back nine,
40:18which sport are they playing?
40:20Golf, baseball or American football?
40:22The one that's striking out to me is American football.
40:24I can imagine them having a back nine.
40:26So if someone is completing the back nine,
40:28which sport are they playing?
40:30Now that I've read the question,
40:32erm...
40:34Golf is the one that's sticking out to me now.
40:36Change your mind?
40:38I've changed my mind there, yeah, now I've read the question again.
40:40Shall we go golf? Let's go with golf.
40:42Let's light up golf, please.
40:44Let's see if you're right.
40:46Shall we answer golf?
40:48Yes, of course it is.
40:5018 holes, the front nine and there's the back nine.
40:52Of course it is.
40:54Completing the back nine is when you're finishing those last few holes.
40:56Yep, yep.
40:58Well done. Do you want to say four?
41:00Yeah, yeah, yeah, light it up.
41:02Come on, then, fire four up, please.
41:04Come on.
41:14OK, that's nicely positioned.
41:16If it goes flat for you there...
41:18Oh, it's riding on that side.
41:20Oh, Taz.
41:22Just releasing it a little late.
41:24Going a little earlier.
41:26One more.
41:28Shall I say four again? Yeah, let's do it.
41:30Fire it up.
41:34That's better.
41:36There you go.
41:38Look, it's going to settle as well. How about that?
41:40Can we squeeze...
41:42Yeah, if we get that black counter, we could squeeze it over.
41:44Yes, yes, yes, yes, Taz.
41:46Come on, then. Let's go with some more, please.
41:48As much as we can. Get it forward.
41:50Two drop in. We're on the bottom shelf.
41:52Great work, mate. £100, £2,500.
41:54Let's go back to the categories.
41:56We've got one left.
41:58Children's literature.
42:00It's not my strongest one, but...
42:02I'll take the stab and we'll go for the three.
42:04Children's literature for three, please.
42:08What are the names of Wendy Darling's brothers
42:10in J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan?
42:12Tom and Paul, Harry and Dan,
42:14John and Michael.
42:16The two that are sticking out
42:18are John and Michael because they seem to be...
42:22It's just shouting out to me for some reason.
42:24John and Michael. Let's do it. John and Michael, please.
42:26Well, let's see if you're right.
42:28Wendy Darling's brothers
42:30in Peter Pan, are they called John and Michael?
42:34Yeah.
42:36You got the right answer, Taz. That's what we needed.
42:38So we've got three counters, so you've got three chances.
42:40Yep. Stick with drop zone four.
42:42Let's see if we can get it on. Let's have four, please.
42:50OK, so might not get at the jackpot
42:52unless it wants to squeeze over.
42:54If we can get that black one down, that'd be nice.
42:56There's still a fair chunk of cash there, isn't there?
43:00Yeah, nice.
43:02Five counters drop in. Let's give you £250.
43:04Takes you up to £2,750.
43:06Two more to go in.
43:08Stick with drop zone four, please. Four again, please.
43:12Get your timing right. Just like that last one was great.
43:14If I can get it to the right...
43:16That'd be lovely, wouldn't it?
43:18Just inside right.
43:22Ooh, could do something.
43:24Squeeze that little pair of counters.
43:26There's still one on the edge. Come on, now.
43:28Oh, it would go through that.
43:30It's a little heavy. I can get the mystery up.
43:32That'd be nice.
43:34Yes! Well done. Five more for you.
43:36Another £250. The money's gone up really nicely.
43:38Up to £3,000 now.
43:40And the mystery counter fell as well. You've won yourself
43:42a garden, bistro, table and chair set.
43:44Curtsy of Moda Furnishings.
43:46Thank you very much. One more to go in as well.
43:48Yeah, stick with drop zone four.
43:50Let's have four, please.
43:52Ooh, there you go.
43:54That's where we needed it.
43:56We needed it a few drops ago.
43:58Is it beginning at anything?
44:00It is. It fills up the gap.
44:02So, look, we're out of questions and categories.
44:04It's not over, though.
44:06Taz, I'm going to offer you one last chance to leave today
44:08with £10,000.
44:10As things stand, you've got £3,000.
44:12You can walk away with that money right now
44:14or you could trade it for three final counters
44:16put into the machine in the hope of getting the jackpot counter out.
44:18If you decide to take the trade,
44:20nothing else has any value.
44:22You'll keep your mystery prize,
44:24but you win £10,000
44:26or you win no cash whatsoever.
44:28Do you think three counters would be enough
44:30to get the jackpot counter out?
44:32My missus would be telling me to just take the money.
44:34My head's telling me to trade.
44:36I think I'll listen to the missus for once.
44:38She'll be happy with that.
44:40So, we'll take the money, please.
44:42Let me ask you one last time. Would you like to take the money or the trade?
44:44I'd like to take the money, please.
44:46Congratulations, Taz. £3,000 is lovely
44:48and undoubtedly your missus will be delighted
44:50that you finally started listening.
44:52£3,000 will go towards renovations,
44:54maybe even towards that lovely holiday as well.
44:56We're going to play out the trade, though,
44:58to see whether you should have listened to what your head was saying
45:00and whether three would have been enough
45:02to get the jackpot into the win zone.
45:04Drop one.
45:06That's no use, is it?
45:08I don't think even with more lateral than you can imagine
45:10that's going to get anywhere near it.
45:12Drop two.
45:14I think that's too far the other way.
45:16Too far right as well.
45:18A little slide over.
45:20Now it's moved it.
45:22That would have been annoying.
45:24This was the third and final drop.
45:26That's where we wanted it.
45:28A bit closer, isn't it?
45:30I don't think it's going too much.
45:32Would it have been enough?
45:34Would it have got on it?
45:36It's going to get it really close, Taz.
45:38Really close.
45:40But you made the right decision.
45:42How are you feeling now?
45:44Better that I listened to the misses.
45:46You've done the right thing.
45:48You're leaving with £3,000.
45:50You've won your Garden Bistro table and chair set as well.
45:52Have you enjoyed yourself?
45:54I have, yeah. It's been a great day.
45:56Thank you very much.
45:58Amazing outplay. It's been lovely playing alongside you.
46:02There you go. Taz is leaving with £3,000.
46:04For once he listened to what his wife was saying at home.
46:06Take the money, don't take the trade.
46:08We'll find the balance on Tipping Point.
46:10Goodbye.
46:38.
