Transcript
00:00Charlie McAvoy shoulders is has been removed and he still wants in on
00:06tonight's game so by the way speaking of Charlie McAvoy did I earlier on the show
00:15bring up dr. Byers you did yes it appears that dr. Byers has called the
00:21radio show this morning the my former co-worker for for decades former Boston
00:29Bruin Lyndon Byers every time as I mentioned earlier every time there was a
00:33hockey injury that we would discuss on the old show LB had suffered through it
00:38so good good morning good morning dr. Byers what hello and hello to nurse
00:45Courtney and as some some some say you and I'll be others we you and I'll be
00:51other same person I'm a black LB I love it kid have you ever had have you ever
01:03had this this AC injury I I have had exactly what Charlie so I so so
01:12everybody knows your AC joint is that little gap if everybody reaches up and
01:17touches their shoulder from the top of their arm that goes in towards their
01:22neck there's a little gap there yeah and that is your AC joint and it is a
01:28ligament you can have an AC grade one grade two grade three and then you can
01:34tear it right off what happens is if you tear it right off then it's going to be
01:42no big deal they'll shoot it up which I did they just shoot it up before the
01:47game and you're off and running because you can't do any more damage to it and
01:53you have surgery at the end of the year and they reattach it and whatever that
01:58so everybody knows dr. Byers and and and all the doctors listening because I know
02:05you are because the Hillman morning show is the show to listen to thank you on a
02:13daily basis just a bunch of geniuses throwing out so much useless information
02:22that you spend the rest of the day not working and doing your job but standing
02:28at the water cooler yelling at your co-workers about what you guys talked
02:34about but anyway so so the every joint in your body has a bursa sac which is a
02:41sterile sac that protects the joint and when there's a rupture in that sac it's
02:50almost automatic that you're going to get a staph infection and that's what
02:56Charlie got and he immediately got put on antibiotics they're probably going to
03:02shoot it up and that's why he's going to be able to play because once he's on the
03:07antibiotics they're going to cover it and and make sure that nothing can get
03:12in the wound and he should be should be good to go how do you like do you like
03:20four nations like do what because the summer now going to use this as an
03:24excuse and say great you know they do this stupid tournament during the season
03:28which I have loved but but now the Bruins are without McAvoy yeah yeah
03:37sorry you know me I always cut you off my bad so does he could have gotten a
03:45car accident on the on the way to the rink yeah I mean you know it's a big
03:52boys sport played by big boys that was a nasty hit you know he took he took a
03:59nasty it on the shoulder and and there's a price to pay for that the body doesn't
04:05give thank God they don't have the old nets where they were like I don't know
04:10drilled anchored into the ice into the cement that would have killed them
04:16probably at least the neck comes off if you're saying that it's staff do you
04:23think though that it was he wasn't treated properly by the medical staff at
04:28four nations and that's why the Bruins are upset now because it could have been
04:31prevented like staff can lead to sepsis you could die from staff I've had staff
04:36I Hillman knows well enough you actually I'll be actually died five times on the
04:44old show really yeah that was and he would call in and say I'm dying I can't
04:48that's why I wasn't I wasn't there well it's probably just so you know when I
04:53had my hip I had my hips replaced I got a staff infection in my right hip they
05:01literally had to take the hip out leave the wound open I laid on the couch for I
05:10think it was like three and a half weeks and my wife Annie you would have
05:15they literally because the staff was gonna it was attacking my body they took
05:22twice a day and it would put a ball of antibiotics and squeeze it out and it
05:29would drain into my jugular vein which would go directly into my heart which
05:34would spread antibiotics throughout my whole body so that the staff wouldn't
05:40attack my body because I could have lost a foot I could have lost my legs I
05:45could have died I hate listen more chat we're chatting today it's all good I
05:54call it so I call Nancy Florence Nightingale she's just she's awesome and
06:00I've had a C joint that's painful oh yeah oh yeah that is why I was gonna say
06:04where you eat you know anybody that's played contact sports is the AC the AC
06:11joint is good until Lee it's painful till I shoot it up then you're the
06:16happiest guy on the planet yeah that's the first negative thing I've heard
06:19what you say about a joint well I mean so they do shoot it as he does self
06:26Medicaid but who doesn't yeah I mean you have to nowadays LBs LBs LBs best
06:33that we were just talking excuse excuses LBs best excuse for missing work was the
06:39overcome by fumes incident LB remember that one it was a true story though he
06:46had his floors I went listen I'll tell the story he'll dog I went to the Daytona
06:53500 with the crazy guys from assholes garage and when we were gone I thought
07:00it would be a good time to have the hardwood floors done in my house and we
07:08came back and the hardwood fumes were you know we got back late I threw the
07:17mattress on the floor Annie and I went to bed I woke up in the morning and I
07:22was discombobulated can you imagine what it was like doing this show for
07:35four years four hours a day I just wanted to picture it correctly it's I
07:38mean Nancy is the nurse I'll be right is that who Nancy is no Nancy is my new
07:43pug my my father-in-law my father-in-law because of my back and being
07:52alone and watching my family leave out the front door every day and live their
07:56life I have my TV and I have my buddy green from down the road and the Millers
08:05across the street and and Nancy is my my best friend in the whole world and she's
08:12a little pug and my father-in-law rod got it for me got her got in what a
08:18dick I am yeah she got me this it's like a wood dog it doesn't you don't even
08:29have to feed it paradise for your TV if you're sitting around all day it's a
08:35great show to watch it is it's marvelous to hear your voice and who do you like
08:42tonight I'll be come on man okay I I amazingly enough hillbog I I did
08:51represent my country once in Sweden playing for the Canadian World Junior
08:56team to assist by the way yeah we finished fourth we lost of it we lost of
09:03the firm's ace of picking in that chump team of Solani so you're picking the
09:09Canadians I am picking the Canadians I spent most of my hair I'd love the
09:15kachuk family they're beasts they're awesome but I I think it's going to be
09:22as as the NHL playoffs go goal-pending is going to be the key
09:27Bennington has been unbelievable and I think the difference would be special
09:33teams tonight people are going to have the intensity is going to be insane at
09:38eight o'clock when that fuck drops and I gotta believe the refs are going to be
09:44in a world of trouble trying to keep this game intact I'll be you're the best
