00:00While SNL 50 brought together numerous cast members and hosts from years past,

00:05there were some notable faces missing. From original cast member Dan Aykroyd to

00:12fan favorite Bill Hader and Five Timer Club host Justin Timberlake, here are

00:17some of the big names that were absent from the Saturday Night Live anniversary

00:21special. First up is Dan, the comedian who starred on seasons one through four

00:27of the comedy sketch show, famously portrayed iconic characters such as

00:32Beldar Conehead and Fred Garvin, male prostitute. However, the 72 year old was

00:38MIA at SNL 50, and while it's not known why Dan decided to skip the nearly

00:44four-hour long special, he did give it a shout out on social media, writing on X

00:50February 14th, cracking ahead with pride at having been a co-founder of SNL along

00:56with everyone we were together with in those four years, five decades ago. This

01:01telecast is as historical as the next moon landing. Comedy stars of our age all

01:07gathered under the aegis of America's greatest living empresario, my boss,

01:12Lorne Michaels. People, it's freaking holy. Another SNL castmate missed at the

01:19special was Bill Hader. The actor was a regular on the series from 2005 to 2013,

01:25and was perhaps best known for his eccentric character, Stefan, who served

01:30as a city correspondent on Weekend Update. So while Bill didn't reprise his

01:35iconic role during the special, he did partake in a digital skit leading up to

01:41the 50th anniversary celebration. Alongside Kristen Wiig and Fred Armisen,

01:46the trio brought back to life their soap opera alter egos in a new rendition of

01:51The Californians. And lastly, celebrity host Justin Timberlake decided to skip

01:58out on the SNL 50 festivities. The singer, who's part of the exclusive SNL 5

02:04Timers Club, has won several Emmys for his roles on the show. However, the

02:0944-year-old had to miss the celebration due to prior commitments. With a source

02:14exclusively telling E! News, Justin is in the middle of a world tour and was

02:19unable to attend.
