00:00♪ And people say love ain't easy. Some people say love ain't breezy. These are old culture stories that they've always told. And every time they mention it, it gets old. But I will laugh it up, I will never give it up, no. ♪
00:20Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh. My name is Abdullah Shamsi. I am an Emirati singer-songwriter, born and raised in Abu Dhabi. I am 22 years old.

00:40At first, I was just, it was never really a plan. I was just growing up in a very active home, used to love sports. That was my main passion. And then later on, music just started to have a different reflection towards me and what I wanted. And so I used to just sing to myself.
00:59
01:23The more I grew up, the more I started liking it. And at some point in my, I guess, athletic journey, I got injured. And from there, everything changed. I noticed I have a different path now. And I took the second or like the closest thing that I felt very attached to, which was music.
01:42Thankfully, with all the support that DOE has, I've finally got to reach where I reach today. And I have officially released my first ever single, Love It Up. It's a very, very sweet song. It came at the right moment in summer. It's a song to remind all of us about our inner child.
01:59Because when we grow up, the world becomes very, very, I would say, to some point of views, it becomes dull and dark. And when you have that little candle inside of you, that little child, it just lights up the world around you. And if you keep them alive, just like a candle, it just lights up your surroundings.
02:18So the song is just to just have that attachment to the older you of being just silly, happy, seeing everything in a brighter color. And the more you're attached to that person, that old you, that younger self, you will always feel happy, even if you're surrounded by lots and lots of work. And that's what the message of the song really delivers. When you spread that light, it is very infectious. Hence the name, Love It Up.

03:14It's a feeling so free. It's a feeling you need. So tell me now, love, love, love it up, you will never give it up, no.
03:28We're working on lots of music. This is just the beginning. And I'm hoping to look back and look at a big mountain of just songs. So yes, yes, we're hopefully going to get some music coming up.
03:38I would first thank you for this opportunity. It's truly amazing to be here and telling my story. I want to thank everyone that have supported me. Thank the team Index Media for doing such an amazing job and delivering this beautiful art piece and beautiful project. And obviously, thank my fans and the country.
04:00Yes, the country has done so much for me. And it really has inspired me to keep going and keep pushing. The UAE never, never said no to anything I really was looking for or needed. And with the support of everybody in the team, this actually my dream looks like it's going to come true and become bigger than just a dream.
