00:00Ramadhan is a very special month for which we wait throughout the year, like it's a month
00:18when we sit together, like sit together, pray together, eat together, meaning it's timed.
00:25You know, when it's timed, everybody comes together at the same time.
00:29It's a family bonding for us in Ramadhan.
00:32We enjoy, I mean, we get up early in the morning, like 4, 4.30 a.m. and we start our fasting
00:41suhoor, with the suhoor and break our fast at the evening time and sit together and eat,
00:49pray.
00:50It's a lovely time for us, I mean, to enjoy together.
00:53Ramadhan is a really holy month and it means a lot to me.
00:56I like fasting and everybody else in Ramadhan that participates in fasting knows how difficult
01:02it is and you need to cope up and, you know, manage it.
01:06As we were young, right, it was a bit more difficult for us because we don't eat, we
01:10eat a lot when we were young, you know, to grow.
01:12Now as, you know, as I've grown up and I'm, like, you know, I'm bigger, it's not that
01:16hard for us to manage and it's nice.
01:19Aftar is all about making things that everybody likes, trying to cope up with the whole family.
01:29We are a total of six members.
01:31I have a small newborn baby, he's six months old and I have three kids, 16, 12 and 13,
01:36so I have to take care of everybody's needs, what, who wants to eat.
01:40That's how we always end to have a big spread always because everybody likes different things.
01:45So it's about getting the things they want to eat and making the things they want to
01:50eat and that's about it and then enjoying it together.
01:53Ramadhan means a lot, like, I get to sit with my family and break our fast together and
01:57it's really nice.
01:59I get to sit with my brother and sister and my parents, it's really nice.
02:03I get to break my fast with them and enjoy food together.
02:07We should pray, you know, usually every day, even outside of Ramadhan, we should pray five
02:17times a day.
02:18But Ramadhan really focuses on us praying more often than we usually pray.
02:23And yes, it pushes us to our limits.
02:26So Ramadhan, it helps us, you know, control ourselves more and it makes us focus on one
02:31thing which is obviously praying and worshipping to our God.
02:34And this really helps us as it's, you know, it's really beneficial for us and we really,
02:39really like to, you know, pray and worship.
02:41You get more time to sit with your kids, ask them questions, like different questions,
02:45how are you doing?
02:46What's, how's life?
02:47What do you feel?
02:48You know, general questions which you don't get time, you're occupied with lunch and then
02:52dinner and breakfast.
02:54This you have a lot of time.
02:55So you sit together, you talk with each other, then you pray, you try to get to know them
03:00better when we are talking to each other because talking is very important, which has become
03:04very less nowadays.
03:05And then you're so tired, they don't, we tell them not to watch so much TV because Ramadhan
03:09does not mean that you're sleeping the whole day or watching the TV the whole day.
03:13It means you should pray, you should do namaz.
03:16You should feel the hunger and thirst, you should feel what anybody feels when they're
03:20not eating.
03:21It brings you more close to other people also.
03:24So that you can feel if anybody doesn't have food, how he feels.
03:27When you have food in front of you in the house and you can not eat it, you know, so
03:32then you feel that anybody who doesn't even have it, how he feels or how she feels, meaning
03:36the food is not available.
03:37So you become, you become more scared, you become more thankful to God and you sit, thank
03:42for all the things you have in your life and you pray for other people also that they also
03:46should get what we have.
