00:00To sensitize political action, to increase public attention and comparison to guarantee the highest standards of diagnosis, access and care to patients through an integrated and multidisciplinary approach thanks to the joint participation of representatives of the institutions, patient associations and the top experts in Italy, both in psychiatry and in neurology, which will guarantee a concrete support and an adequate care for the patients.
00:27This is the goal of the new OneBrain parliamentary group for the care of people with mental and neurological disorders, presented in Rome.
00:41The goal of this intergroup is to have an integrated approach on the health of the brain. OneBrain for this reason, the possibility to have a series of experiences, to focus on a series of aspects and to have a reduction of all the experiences that exist on this topic.
01:04We are aware of how impactful the pathologies that affect the brain are, of how much part of society they involve, from patients to relatives, to scientific societies, to scientific research and to the national health system.
01:22We wanted to make a contribution that was an operational contribution, also of coordination, a contribution that starts from the dialogue with patient associations, with scientific societies and that from this dialogue then draws concrete results.
01:39The prevention of mental disorders in the context of OneHealth is fundamental. It is scientifically proven, in fact, that the correct lifestyles, as well as physical activity, can also affect mental health. Therefore, ministries and institutions have the task of communicating and informing about it.
01:57We remember that prevention is primary prevention, but also secondary prevention, as well as tertiary prevention. Therefore, the ministry's obligation is above all to engage in the adhesion to therapies. And above all, since many mental health pathologies cannot be easily removed, the inclusion after the healing of a mental pathology is fundamental.
02:18And above all, how to make patients adhere to therapy also becomes an institutional obligation and how to convey these messages correctly.
02:28Thanks to the definition of OneHealth, the OneBrain intergroup therefore adopts a holistic approach, representing a place where all skills are highlighted by political decision-makers to launch strategies such as the promotion of mental and neurological health, but not only.
02:45The prevention strategy is to launch integrated healing paths accessible to everyone, to support research in all its articulations, from the basic one to the epidemiological one to the clinical one, because only the integration and collaboration of all these different aspects today can allow to find a cure or to prevent and promote an integrated health of the brain and mind,
03:14which are, among other things, a very close and complex interconnection.
