00:00Hello everybody, I'm Scott Shuey and this is Gulf News' coverage of the U.S. midterm
00:08elections.
00:09Alright, there are three distinct sets of election results we're looking at tonight
00:11and one of the first and probably the most important one is the U.S. House of Representatives.
00:15Now there's actually 435 different elections going on right now.
00:21You'll notice there's a lot of red on the map.
00:23These generally represent some of the smaller states.
00:26So up here through the Nebraskas, you're going to notice these are all single races
00:30going on for U.S. House of Representatives.
00:33But down here in the more popular states like Texas and California, you'll see there's a
00:36lot more smaller districts which means there's a lot more representation going on down here.
00:42Now as we go on tonight, we'll start seeing over here in New England and on the East Coast
00:46we'll start seeing the results come through probably around 3 in the morning Dubai time
00:50and it'll gradually shift throughout the evening until we get down to Alaska and Hawaii which
00:55should close up tomorrow around noon actually.
00:58But we'll probably have most of the election results earlier since the bulk of the election
01:02results will be from here although California and the West Coast tend to be blue so a lot
01:07of assumptions we made early on.
01:09Hopefully we'll have a result for you before noon.
01:12Alright everyone, keep turning back to Gulfnews.com.
01:15I'm Scott Shuey.
