00:11The UAE and China today signed nine agreements during an official reception in Beijing for
00:16His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy
00:21Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, who was on a three-day visit to China.
00:26On Sunday, Sheikh Mohammed and his delegation visited the Great Wall of China and also met
00:30Emirati students studying in Chinese universities. Sheikh Mohammed pointed out that relations
00:36between the UAE and China have developed rapidly since the establishment of diplomatic ties
00:41and have seen great qualitative leaps on the political, economic, and cultural levels.
00:47Saudi voters have elected 20 women for local government seats, a day after women voted
00:52and ran in elections for the first time in the country's history. The 20 candidates
00:56represent just 1% of the roughly 2,100 municipal council seats up for grabs, but even limited
01:03gains are seen as a step forward for women who had previously been shut out of elections.
01:09Sweden has reached a preliminary legal agreement with Ecuador that would pave the way for WikiLeaks
01:14founder Julian Assange to be questioned over a rape allegation. When the deal is finalized,
01:19it will open the door for the Swedish state prosecutor to question Assange, a Swedish
01:23Justice Ministry official said, adding that the agreement was not specifically linked
01:28to the Assange case. In sport, Arsene Wenger said Arsenal had enjoyed a perfect week after
