00:00Good day. Welcome to the Gulf News Update for Tuesday, July the 7th. Here are the top
00:09stories at this hour.
00:11Britain today marks 10 years since the London bombings, with a minute's silence for the
00:1552 victims, less than a fortnight after an attack in Tunisia. Thirty Britons were among
00:2138 people killed when a gunman went on the rampage at a popular Tunisian beach resort
00:26on June 26, Britain's worst terror incidents since four suicide bombers attacked the London
00:31transport network on July 7, 2005.
00:35An Indian businessman who has helped repatriate more than 2,600 bodies from the UAE is especially
00:41busy this Ramadan. Ashraf Sherry, 42, is currently dealing with up to four cases a day on average,
00:48despite fasting during the long, hot days. He has dealt with some 40 nationalities and
00:52in some cases could barely communicate with the people because of language barriers.
00:58Saudi authorities have arrested three brothers linked to a suicide bombing by a Saudi man
01:03on a Shiite mosque in Kuwait last month. The three brothers, who were not identified, were
01:07parties to the crime of the sinful terrorist bombing that targeted the Imam al-Sadiq mosque
01:12in Kuwait, the Saudi press agency reported.
01:15World powers are set today to miss yet another deadline to nail down an elusive nuclear deal,
01:20ending a 13-year standoff with Iran despite hours of difficult top-level negotiations.
01:26In a sign of how complex the negotiations have become, foreign ministers met deep into
01:31the night Monday, grappling with the toughest remaining issues which have so far thwarted
01:36a deal to curtail Iran's nuclear program.
01:39Roger Federer and Andy Murray reached the Wimbledon quarterfinals last night, but defending
01:44champion Novak Djokovic's attempt to join them was thwarted by bad light. Djokovic stood
01:50at 6-7-6-8, 6-7-6-8, 6-1-6-4 against 14 seeded South African Kevin Andersen when play was
01:57suspended.
01:59Bill Cosby acknowledged in a 2005 court deposition that he intended to give drugs to young women
02:05with whom he wanted to have sex. Cosby's admission that he obtained qualudes to use on women
02:10was contained in a 10-year-old deposition given by the legendary comedian in a civil
02:15lawsuit.
02:16A Philadelphia woman claimed in the lawsuit Cosby had molested her after surreptitiously
02:22drugging her.
02:23And finally, the weather. Today's high across the UAE will be 42 degrees Celsius, dropping
02:27to 30 degrees at night.
02:29That's all for now. Thanks for watching. But as always, you can get the latest news on
