00:00Welcome, we're very excited because we're about to give you a sneak preview into one
00:11of the most anticipated supermalls to hit the UAE.
00:15It's huge, it's two and a half million square feet, it's in Abu Dhabi and when it opens
00:20in November it will be Abu Dhabi's largest mall.
00:24It is of course the Yass Mall.
00:28One interesting factor about Yass Mall is that the environment has clearly been considered
00:33in its design.
00:34Just look behind me, these coves have been fitted with LED lighting and there are thousands
00:40of meters of these LED lights all around this mall.
00:44So Istidam is Abu Dhabi's environment and sustainable standards that they have set and
00:50it's a five-pearl system.
00:51The minimum standard that any building has to achieve is one pearl.
00:55We set ourselves a very high standard to achieve two pearls within that Istidam rating,
00:59which is all about making sure that the building is energy efficient, we're using environment
01:03friendly materials, we look at how much energy we consume, how we consume our waste and we've
01:09successfully implemented that during the construction phase and we intend to do so as well during
01:14the operational stage.
01:15We also encourage a lot of our retailers as well to follow along the same footpaths and
01:19make sure that they use a lot of sustainable materials to continue within that.
01:22The environment is such an important part of everything that we do at Eldar and at Yass
01:26Mall.
01:27So the mall was very urban, we have some open corridors, we have a lot of natural light,
01:33it's got a very easy configuration and people can access the mall from multiple locations
01:38with great ease.
01:40So we really tried to incorporate all of those elements into the design.
01:44We are in Town Square in the heart of Yass Mall.
01:48The complete glass ceiling makes this area the largest naturally lit indoor area in the
01:54region.
01:55The idea behind Yass Mall was to bring the outdoors indoors and they've really succeeded
02:00in doing that.
02:01As you walk around the mall and you see the little architectural details such as the trees,
02:06the pools of water, the natural light which is all around the mall, the natural limestone,
02:10you really get a feel of that outdoor experience.
02:15With over 370 stores which will include the region's largest Debenhams, Zara, Adidas, Nike
02:22and a massive 20 screen cinema, Yass Mall is going to be a fantastic addition to the
02:27UAE's retail market.
