00:11Israeli and Palestinian negotiators will resume peace talks in Washington today, according
00:15to the US State Department. The talks, stalled since 2010, follow months of shuttle diplomacy
00:21by US Secretary of State John Kerry. The statement came hours after Israel approved the release
00:26of more than 100 Palestinian prisoners.
00:29The environment agency Abu Dhabi is taking steps to address the high per capita carbon
00:33and water footprints, said Razan Khalifa al-Mubarak, Secretary General of the agency. She said
00:39Abu Dhabi cooling accounts for around 50% of the electricity consumption of the residential
00:44sector. These factors, combined with a high standard of living in Abu Dhabi, result in
00:48a high carbon footprint.
00:50Egypt's interim president, Adly Mansour, has transferred emergency powers to Prime Minister
00:55Hazem al-Bablawi, according to state media. The country's new rulers seem prepared to
01:01crack down on protesting backers of top-ruled Islamist President Mohamed Morsi. A tour bus
01:06filled with Italians returning home after an excursion plunged off a highway into a
01:11ravine in southern Italy on Sunday night after it smashed into several cars that slowed down
01:16due to heavy traffic, killing at least 37 people.
01:20Cricket and Umar Akmal's 36-ball 46 helped Pakistan win their second and final 2020 match
01:27in the West Indies by 11 runs last night. They won the series 2-0. India and Sri Lanka
