View from the pressbox: Brighton secure FA Cup victory over Chelsea
Transcript
00:00Hello, I'm Sam Morton, a reporter for Sussex World. I've just watched Brighton beat Chelsea 2-1 in the FA Cup.
00:06It was a brilliant performance from Brighton, who bounced back superbly after that horror show at Nottingham Forest last weekend.
00:13You kind of feared the worst early on with Bart Verbruggen making a big error, letting Cole Palmer's tame effort from a tight angle somehow slip underneath him.
00:23It was a real strange moment and an awful start to the match. You feared the worst for Brighton from that point.
00:30But they responded so well and were level within six minutes with Joel Veltman's brilliant cross headed in equally as brilliantly by Jorginho Rutter,
00:40who was exceptional throughout the match and really did show his quality.
00:45He provided the assist for Karim Matoma, who again brilliantly finished to seal a 2-1 win that was so much needed.
00:54First home win since November and I feel like they can really set a stall now for the rest of the season.
01:01They can really help them build and improve on that performance after what was a dreadful result last weekend.
01:08Carlos Baleba back inside and what a difference he made. He was so missed at the City ground last weekend.
01:14So yeah, lots of reasons to be positive.
01:16I think Hertzel was rightly criticised for his tactics and the way he set the team up last weekend.
01:21He proved a lot of doubters wrong today and proved that those calls for him to lose his job were far too premature.
