00:00Hello there, good afternoon to you, welcome to your latest update from the Metafis.
00:05Grey is the main colour on offer for most of us this weekend, or ready to kick off Saturday.
00:10It is widely cloudy. There are parts of Western Scotland, some fringes of Pembrokeshire and Western Wales
00:16that are managing to see some sunshine in play, but elsewhere it is rather dull and drab,
00:21outbreaks of rain and drizzle. And these will continue across England and Wales this afternoon,
00:26some showers pushing into eastern Scotland as well.
00:28There'll be a wintry flavour in amongst all of that, some snow over the hills, maybe a touch of sleet to lower levels as well.
00:34But underneath the cloud it is going to be feeling rather cold, temperatures really struggling,
00:39much of a four or six degrees Celsius.
00:42As this system of rain and drizzle does push its way ever so slightly northwards,
00:46we could see a few more clear spells developing across the very far south of England this evening and overnight,
00:51and certainly will hold onto clear skies across north-western Scotland and parts of Northern Ireland as well.
00:56Underneath the clear skies it is going to turn chilly with some frost, maybe some freezing fog and icy stretches,
01:02where surfaces remain untreated.
01:04If you're sticking around the cloud though, temperatures will remain on the positive side of the temperature scale,
01:09around three to four degrees Celsius.
01:12Despite the chilly start in the far north and south though,
01:15it's here where we're going to see the most lengthy spells of sunshine to kick off Sunday,
01:20particularly for areas of Scotland will hold onto that throughout the day,
01:23and parts of Hampshire down towards Cornwall should hopefully see a brighter day as well.
01:27These central areas are going to hold onto a lot of cloud, again very grey, drab and dull,
01:32and damp into the far south-east of England as well into the afternoon.
01:36Temperatures on the thermometer perhaps up by a degree or so, now closer towards seven or eight degrees Celsius,
01:42but I think most of us are not going to notice that much of a difference,
01:46particularly where the cloud holds in play.
01:48But also we're going to see an easterly breeze set itself back up once again,
01:52and that is going to add an extra wind chill factor on top of things as we head into Sunday.
01:58We hold onto a very similar picture into the evening as well,
02:01that rain in the far south-east just pushing its way southwards.
02:04But into Monday, high pressure still holds on across Scandinavia,
02:07and that easterly breeze is still going to be in play.
02:10So again, wind chill factor once again added on top of the cold air that is already in play.
02:15There'll be plenty more updates on what you can expect during the next week on our YouTube channel,

02:22Otherwise, we'll see you again here very soon. Bye-bye.
