00:00Penfield, the enzyme scientist, the snowboard technician, the gnarlier and steeper it gets,
00:06the more comfortable this man is on a mountain. Loves riding powder as he is going way out here
00:13to the rider's ride along the ridge. Yeah, dropping in on face, catching a little air off
00:17those little wind features up top. Like I said, it might be a little wind scoured on the ridge
00:22as he makes his way down, maybe to this cornice feature, but once he gets on slip there has not
00:27been that much wind on the face, which is awesome. Yeah, and kind of rare, honestly, for this part
00:31of the world. Often ozone gets the wind coming out of the east and pushing, oh, I love that,
00:38dropping in and out of the face, just adding a little spice to the stew there for John Penfield
00:43as he's going way down the ridge. There's lots, you can see exactly what's looming below that
00:49cornice for Jonathan Penfield as he now looks to lock in on his landmarks and get into the
00:55meat of things. Yeah, first rider to go this far over rider's ride on this feature and straight
00:59into the gnar off the cornice. Wow, with that double and a three and he holds on and then spinning
01:05the other way. Frontside three, backside three, back to back. That was action packed for Jonathan
01:12Penfield, bringing the freestyle, bringing the heat and the intensity of that run. If you blinked,
01:18you might have missed it there for Jonpow. Fast but packed in, lots of features and again right
01:23into the gnar. Jonathan really known for like painting the mountain, finding in the unique line
01:28and then doing good work with that unique line coming right across the finish line there.
01:33I gotta say, I got some pride, the truckie wolverines strong, you know. Let's look back
01:39here, Amy, at the replay of this as we see Jonathan Penfield straight into it. Wow. Back three,
01:44off the second step of that double and then right away into the frontside three.
01:49Making a double out of that feature with that trick, a slight kind of
01:54board like he's riding the back of the board there. Yeah, that's for the judges to decide
01:58what he's doing there but then right into that. The big 360, his bottom air was huge.
02:03Fast work, like you said, like coming down the ridge had the little kind of re-entry move,
02:06I like that. And then had it just in store for us up on that playful side of the venue.
02:19Well, the judges have their work cut out for them when the first rider of the day
02:26puts that down and I feel like uncharacteristic quietness in front of the backdrop today. Could
02:33be the cold, saw it in the snowboard women too. Not a lot of chatting going on, people I think
02:37saving their energy to stay warm as that score coming in at a 74.67 for Jon Penfield. So the
02:44judges, you know.
