Robbie Stelling discusses Jamie Miley's impact at Hartlepool United following his move from Newcastle United.
Transcript
00:00Jamie Miley, I think that's another player who represents the fact that
00:04Pools are looking for the future, but also he's here for the here and now as well.
00:10As he proved on Saturday, obviously very limited senior experience,
00:14played eight times at Newport in the first half of the season,
00:17had a few injuries that certainly didn't help.
00:19It's never easy for a young man to be far from home as well.
00:23I think that's a challenge, especially at short notice,
00:26but he's come in and made a really positive start.
00:29He's got some great midfielders to learn from.
00:32Nicky Featherstone, as we mentioned, foremost among them.
00:35I think one of the things Pools have lacked, though,
00:37in midfield is a little bit of quality on the ball.
00:41They've got six central midfielders on their books.
00:43Nicky Featherstone clearly is a talented technician,
00:46but if you look at the others, Nathan Sharon, he's played every game this season.
00:49He's been absolutely excellent, but he is far more renowned for his
00:54destructive abilities than his ball-playing prowess.
00:57Jack Hunter, Greg Selgate, Kieran Wallace are similar types of midfielders.
01:01So they have probably lacked someone who can see a pass, play through the lines.
01:06When Pools played Woking and Woking had 10 men for more than an hour,
01:09they really lacked someone to play that killer pass.
01:13And we hope that Miley is going to be the man.
01:15It's going to take him some time to adjust to National League.
