The Hartlepool Mail's Robbie Stelling gives his verdict after Pools beat in-form Oldham Athletic to move within three points of the National League play-off places.
Transcript
00:00Here at a Chile prestige group stadium where Hartlepool United produced one of their best
00:06performances of the season to beat an in-form Oldham ending the Latics eight game unbeaten
00:12run. A stunning strike from Josh Lindstrom fired the visitors ahead his first time volley
00:18nestled in the top corner somewhat against the run of play. Oldham then enjoyed 10 minutes
00:23of dominance but Pools responded really well and got back into the game through skipper
00:27Luke Waterfall who headed home his first goal of the season. Pools for the most part
00:32were the better side and won the game thanks to the impressive Anthony Mancini who looks
00:37well and truly back to his best following a scintillating performance. Pools took another
00:42step closer to the National League playoff places responding well after a disappointing
00:46defeat at Gateshead last time out. It felt like a real statement of intent from Lenny
00:52Lawrence and his side who got the better of one of the National League's most in-form
00:58outfits. Not only did they get the better of them, Pools were extremely impressive and
01:03were good value for the three points. They now have 10 days off before a long trip to
01:09Barnet however some of the pressure will be off that journey after three very valuable
01:14points here at the prestige group stadium.
