00:00OK, and we're going to pick up on some of those points in a moment, but I just want to just quickly before we move on, I want to ask you about your life in prison.
00:08I mean, you say you were in solitary for quite a lot of the time. Were you on the whole well-treated?
00:13I mean, if that's even possible when you're in solitary confinement or were you singled out, do you think, for mistreatment in prison as well?
00:19So typically it's called the SHU, right? That's what solitary is called. It's called the Segregating Housing Unit.
00:26And usually their maximum amount of time that they, by their own policy and by what I saw, the maximum they put an inmate in there for, and it's usually for disciplinary reasons, is 15 days.
00:41In my case, again, I spent almost three years in solitary confinement. I went to a facility because I kept getting moved.
00:49I went to a specific facility in Petersburg, Virginia, where I didn't have a toothbrush, I didn't have toothpaste, I didn't have soap, I didn't have a shower, no razor for three weeks.
