00:09Chief Executive, thanked the UN official for the help he provided to the country.

00:20President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., visited the UN Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator in the Philippines,

00:27Gustavo Gonzales, Jr., in Malacanang earlier this morning.

00:30The UN official invited the President to formally say his goodbyes

00:34as the Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator of the United Nations in the country,

00:39which started in 2020.

00:42In the casual conversation between the two,

00:44President R. Marcos thanked Gustavo for the help the UN provided to the country,

00:51especially during the pandemic.

00:53President R. Marcos said it was difficult to overcome the effects of the pandemic,

00:56but with the help of the UN, the Philippines was able to overcome it.

01:01On his behalf, the UN Resident Coordinator, President R. Marcos,

01:06also thanked the UN for the support of his administration

01:10in implementing Sustainable Development Goals that end poverty,

01:15protect the environment, and ensure the peace and prosperity of the country.

01:20According to Gonzales, the Philippines will remain close to his heart

01:25as his last tour of duty while leaving the country will be his retirement.

01:32Within four years, Gustavo led the UN initiatives in the Philippines,

01:37including the programs for establishing humanitarian assistance and maintaining peace.
