00:00The Department of Labor and Employment explained why some former internet gaming licensee or POGO workers are complaining about their failed job fairs.

00:11The government assured that they are still ready to help them.

00:16This is the story of Noel Talacay.

00:18One of the purposes of the job fair is to help the displaced workers from POGO or the Internet Gaming License or IGL.

00:37Some have held job fairs but admitted that the number of displaced IGL workers has decreased.

00:46To the job seekers who went, there were more than 100 hired on the spot.

00:56We were also given what we call a livelihood program, more than 100, but we continue to reach out.

01:05Based on the statistics, the number of IGL workers directly affected by the closure is less than 40,000.

01:18Labor Secretary Laguasma explained that there are reasons why only 100 were able to get a job at the previous job fair.

01:27The Secret Service also said that they may be looking for a higher salary because they are used to a higher salary from their IGL work.

01:38First, last year at our job fairs, they were hoping that their company's operations would be extended.

01:47Second, they may have gotten a job because IT business process outsourcing companies are looking for jobs according to their requirements.

01:59Third, they are looking for jobs related to salary.

02:03Most of the jobs offered at the job fair are regular entry level.

02:11Laguasma also said that DOLE is ready to guide and help the displaced IGL workers in the country.

02:19They may approach the Public Employment Service Offices or PESO of each local government.

02:27We are capacitating the staff of the Public Employment Service Offices so that we can expand the programs of the Department of Labor and Employment.

02:38According to DOLE, there are more than 40,000 displaced IGL workers in the country.

02:46DOLE said that all of them have already been profiled by the agency.

02:50This means that DOLE already knows what kind of job is suitable for them.

02:56Before the end of January 2025, the 2025 Jobstreet Career Con was held led by DOLE and Jobstreet,

03:05an online job board where there are more than 8,000 jobs and 18,000 job applicants are included in the so-called job fair.
