00:00Hi, I'm Will Clark. I'm the sports editor with the Inverness Courier.
00:04I've been with the paper for about eight years now.
00:07I first got involved in journalism 20 years ago when I was working with a newspaper in Inverurie.
00:14I was a news journalist and I combined that with sports journalism.
00:18I then went to work with the John O'Groat Journal in Wick where, as well as a news journalist, I was also the sports editor.
00:25I moved to Inverness Courier in 2018 and I've been a dedicated sports editor ever since.
00:32Part of the job includes following Inverness, Caledonian Thistle and Ross County,
00:38reporting on matches but also covering the accomplishments of athletes.
00:44I've always had a great interest in a lot of sports, also quite athletic myself.
00:50I used to do a lot of athletics and cross-country and played football as well.
00:55I just had a great interest in it and it's something that I wanted to write about and make a career of.
01:01I reckon that anyone that's interested in getting involved in sports journalism
01:05is just to get in touch with newspapers or radio, volunteer their services and just see where it can end up.
