00:00So, Keith, let's dive right into what the numbers are looking like for this week out at Torrey
00:05Pines. Ludwig Oberg, he is the favorite at 9 to 1. Adeke Matsuyama not all that far behind
00:12at 11 to 1. Price, Keith, you stare at the top of the odds board. Which golfers do you think
00:18are best fit for a run this week in San Diego? Well, Ben, as you brought up in the opening,
00:23this is a classic golf course, the South Course at Torrey. It's hosted two U.S. Opens. Now,
00:28over the course of the first two rounds, they play the north and the south, but they're going
00:31to play three on the south. And it's a monster. And that's why Ludwig Oberg and Adeke Matsuyama,
00:36the two highest ranked golfers in the world, are the favorites. Now, Adeke, he's already won this
00:41year, shot thirty five under par at the century on a big golf course there. He's got to be a
00:45favorite. He has two top tens there in the last five years. Now, Oberg, he's only played there
00:50once, T9 last year, and he gained over six strokes ball striking. That's off the tee
00:54and on approach. The two of them are two perfect fits for this contest. Keith, as we go back to
01:00San Diego, we look at Torrey Pines and we talk about the golf course overall. You mentioned it
01:05is a classic stop each and every year. As you look at players, maybe outside of those favorites that
01:12you think have the games best suited for San Diego. What is one of the keys you'll need in
01:17the game this week to have success at the Farmers Insurance Open? Guys, we're working with limited
01:23time until this thing starts. So here's Keith's keys. Three quick things. The first thing, 200
01:28plus, you've got to be a great long iron player. Seven of the eight par threes are over 200 yards
01:34on these two different courses. The second thing is you've got to be a top gun. We're right there
01:38near Miramar. I don't know if Tom Cruise is going to be there or not, but I'll tell you what, you've
01:41got to be able to launch the ball high. Tiger Woods won there seven times. Jason Day, who's in
01:46the field, he's won there twice. Both those guys hit their iron shot super, super high. And why?
01:51Because the south course, it's the longest course on the PGA Tour. Seventy seven hundred yards plus
01:56and it has five thousand square foot greens on average. So that's a super small target. And you
02:01know what? We don't get any rain in Southern California. We know what's going on in L.A.
02:05Well, it's the same situation down there in San Diego. This place is going to play like a brick.
02:10Those small greens from these far away targets, you've got to be able to launch it high like a
02:14top gun. And the last thing is, is because of all that bounce, the ball is going to fall through
02:18those greens. You're going to need to be a good around the green, you know, kind of short game
02:23chef, mind you. Right. You're going to be able to get the ball up and down because this is a U.S.
02:26Open style venue.
