00:00Hello everybody, how we doing?
00:02Little bit of a change of scenery today.
00:04I'm in the comfort of my living room.
00:06I looked outside preparing to do this video.
00:08Put my coat on and thought
00:10Nah, looks grim.
00:12And I've noticed in some of my previous videos
00:14I've been getting savagely attacked by the wind.
00:16So I thought I'd do today
00:18from the comfort of my living room.
00:20So yeah, we'll see how it goes.
00:22Where do you start? Obviously you've got to
00:24look at that defeat the other day.
00:26Where did that come from?
00:28Newcastle on a 9 game winning run
00:30then all of a sudden, in true Newcastle United
00:32fashion, a game they should be
00:34winning at home, full house, early
00:36kick-off, Bournemouth have travelled the length of the country
00:38and then they end up slapping
00:40Newcastle 4-1.
00:42Credit to Bournemouth, they deserved it.
00:44Right from the
00:46opening couple
00:48of minutes, you can see
00:50Antonio Arreola's got them so well
00:52drilled. I think going into the game
00:54they were 5th lowest in the league for
00:56possession, but they looked so
00:58well drilled, they were knocking it about
01:00ticky-tack.
01:02They were pressing high at the pitch
01:04they really did a number on Newcastle
01:06at home. It's been coined
01:08on social media and a couple of pundits have put it
01:10out there as well. They did
01:12what Newcastle have done to other
01:14teams, to Newcastle.
01:16So yeah, I think hats off
01:18to Bournemouth, thoroughly deserved the win.
01:20From Newcastle's
01:22point of view, it really was a poor
01:24performance. Alex had that he barely
01:26touched the ball. Dan Byrne, he's passive
01:28in the first half. I don't know if he
01:30was seeing a black and white shirt
01:32in the crowd or something, but every time
01:34he got the ball he tried to play a Hollywood pass
01:36at the midfield and it would just totally lose possession.
01:38Fabian Scherr came on, he
01:40was exactly the same. I think him and Dan Byrne
01:42must have been sharing a half-time snap or something
01:44because he came out exactly the same as Dan Byrne
01:46giving the ball away cheaply.
01:48It was just an all-round terrible afternoon
01:50for Newcastle.
01:52With Man City winning as well, they moved level
01:54on points with Newcastle in fourth spot and
01:56Chelsea play tonight, so
01:58a lot of eyes will be on that Chelsea game. Can Newcastle
02:00cling on to that fifth spot? But for
02:02the result itself, Newcastle
02:04you know, you can't just credit
02:06the form they've been on lately.
02:08So Eddie Howell will be hoping
02:10that's an outlier rather than a sign of things
02:12to come. There was
02:14no real positives to take away from
02:16the game. I thought if anyone deserved credit
02:18maybe Tonali, but then you're reaching
02:20there. It was a
02:22stinkfest really from a Newcastle point of view.
02:24It was probably the worst
02:26performance, especially at home, that they've put in
02:28since Chris Wood came back
02:30and haunted them and bagged a hat-trick.
02:32So yeah, what I would
02:34say is if there's one team
02:36you want to be playing
02:38to bounce back from a game like that
02:40it is Southampton. Rock bottom of the league, got
02:42six points. Tyler Dibbling,
02:44a player who has been linked with Newcastle,
02:46is injured with an ankle injury for the next
02:48six weeks or so. So
02:50Southampton are there for the taking and that would be a good
02:52way to get back on track and
02:54try not to dim
02:56the mood too much because I do think
02:58there has been an understanding from Newcastle fans
03:00that yes, they've given it all
03:02in recent weeks and
03:04trying to highlight
03:06it as a freak result rather than
03:08ripping them too much. Away from the
03:10football and the big story that's dropped in
03:12the past 24 hours is on Lloyd Kelly.
03:14Now on Friday, Eddie Howell
03:16was asked at his press conference
03:18what's happening with Lloyd Kelly?
03:20All these reports are coming out from
03:22Fenerbahce's side and Fenerbahce's
03:24board member,
03:26Akun Elekhani, who actually owns
03:28Hull City as well, he had been
03:30flapping his gums to the media saying
03:32we're in for Lloyd Kelly, we're in talks
03:34with Newcastle. Now Eddie Howell
03:36really got annoyed by that.
03:38He dismissed it as noise from
03:40their side. So it's
03:42interesting that yesterday
03:44Richie Romano, who I'm sure you're all aware
03:46of who he is, he came out
03:48and said Juventus are in for Lloyd Kelly.
03:50Now, what do I make of that?
03:52It sort of says
03:54the power and the might of the Premier League
03:56that a player who has barely had a kick
03:58for Newcastle this season can then
04:00all of a sudden be linked with a move to
04:02Juventus. I mean, how times change.
04:04If he were to move to Juventus
04:06he may finally get the hide and black and white stripes
04:08on because Newcastle fans haven't
04:10really seen much of him. But
04:12in a PSR world, that would
04:14make sense I think.
04:16If Newcastle can get good money for him
04:18all the noises are
04:20suggesting a similar sort of
04:22situation to Fenerbahce, that this is coming
04:24from the Juventus side
04:26from the Italy side. There's been no
04:28indication from Newcastle's
04:30camp or Newcastle's side
04:32at all regarding
04:34Lloyd Kelly. I'm sure it's going to be another
04:36question that Eddie Howell is going to have to face
04:38before the trip to Southampton on the weekend.
04:40But just back on the PSR
04:42point, with Miguel Almiron
04:44it's looking like
04:46he's going to leave. If Lloyd Kelly were to
04:48follow suit, how much wiggle room would that
04:50create on the balance sheet? Could they get a new player in?
04:52Some reports
04:54have been saying Lloyd Kelly, Newcastle
04:56are wanting 25 million, 30 million
04:58Euros from him. I think that would be
05:00a bit too steep, especially for a player that
05:02signed for nothing last year and he hasn't done
05:04anything of note to sort of
05:06enhance that value at all.
05:08A bit of Newcastle luck, he
05:10didn't cost anything. It would be a similar
05:12situation to Yancuba Minty, you know
05:14they signed him for peanuts
05:16didn't even kick a ball from Newcastle
05:18and then they moved him on for PSR reasons.
05:20And Lloyd Kelly, you've got to look at that pecking
05:22order as well. You've got
05:24Steve Bottman just came back from injury
05:26Dan Byrne and then you've got Fabian
05:28Schär who can also play both sides of centre-half
05:30and so Lloyd Kelly
05:32Lewis Hall's nailed down the left-back spot
05:34and Dan Byrne, Bottman and Schär
05:36are ahead of him in the pecking order at centre-back
05:38so if they can get a good fee for him
05:40I don't see why Newcastle would accept it
05:42the reports flying around at the minute suggesting
05:44they're wanting 30 million, I think that's
05:46probably a little bit on the steep side.
05:48That's it for today everybody, thank you for
05:50watching and look, I know
05:52it's Blue Monday. Experts are
05:54calling this the most depressing day of the year
05:56and maybe you're feeling a little bit down in the dumps
05:58after that horror show the other day
06:00but as I mentioned earlier in the video
06:02better days are coming and Newcastle have a
06:04perfect chance next weekend
06:06against Southampton to get back on that
06:08win column. The transfer window
06:10there's still about 11 days or so left
06:1211, 12 days, I don't know
06:14what day it is.
06:16All the talk at the minute is about
06:18outgoings. A couple of players
06:20out in Newcastle could have scope there
06:22to maybe sneak a player through the door
06:24and yeah, can't forget about the Carabao Cup
06:26either. Newcastle, that's covered
06:28like the coal and they've got that massive semi-final
06:30covered up. Most people would
06:32probably lean and say Newcastle have already
06:34got one foot in the final
06:36but that might be a little bit premature
06:38you know how this club rolls by now
06:40but yeah, cheers for watching everybody
06:42and I'll see you later on in the week.
