00:00According to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in the declaration of the Food Security Emergency
00:06so that the price of rice can be guaranteed.
00:09In an ambush interview, the President said that this is in front of the efforts of the government
00:14to lower the price of goods, particularly rice.
00:17The President also added that this is a way for the market to run smoothly
00:21when the voters are not in danger.
00:26The reason that we are doing this is we did everything to lower the price of rice
00:33but the market is not being allowed to work properly.
00:38The demand and supply curve is not being followed
00:42because until now, even if you lower all the inputs, the sales are still high.
00:48And so we have to force that price down and we have to make sure that the market works properly.
00:54That there is no friction cost because of different things.
