The three Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) have passed the halfway mark in their construction.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin on Thursday (Jan 16) said LCS2, LCS3, and LCS4 are 86.61%, 76.60%, and 65.05% completed, respectively.

00:00In 2025, a total of 12 billion ringgit will be allocated for the acquisition of assets and ATMs.
00:13Among the main acquisition assets that have been approved this year include
00:19105mm PAK Hot Wiser for land forces, surface-to-surface missiles for use,
00:293 medium-altitude units, long-endurance unmanned aerial systems,
00:39and many others that need not be mentioned.
00:45In addition, we will continue to ensure the development and progress of important asset construction
00:53to achieve the progress scheduled.
00:56This includes the LCS-1, which is expected to achieve 96.52%.
01:08The LCS-1 has now begun the acquisition test of ports and sea.
01:17The LCS-2, LCS-3, LCS-4, and LCS-5 are expected to achieve 86.61%,
01:2976.60%, 65.05%, and 48.72%.
01:40The LCS-2 has also been lowered into the water and is currently undergoing a setting to work.
01:49Meanwhile, the LCS-3 is in the final stages of preparation to be lowered into the water,
01:57which is scheduled for January 2026.
02:02For the construction of the second batch of LMS ships,
02:06the progress of the work for the third batch of ships is expected to reach 13.8% overall in June 2025.
02:22The LMS B-2-1, B-2-2, and B-2-3 are expected to achieve 17.1%, 13.9%, and 10.4%.
02:45At the same time, for the Kai FA-50, Block 20 is achieving a status of progress up to 48% for the time being.

03:13In addition, we are working on the acquisition of the maritime patrol aircraft for the purpose of monitoring the maritime area,
