00:27Uwe, stated that his client had agreed to proceed with the trial in English.
00:32The trial, previously delayed three times, was initially set for January 13, but was
00:38postponed due to a dispute over a Hebrew interpreter.
00:42A second postponement occurred on January 7, following Shalom's request for an interpreter.
00:49Judge Mohammad Zaki scheduled 14 trial days starting next month, with proceedings to be
00:54held at the Kajang Prison Complex.
00:57Thirty-nine-year-old Avitan is charged with possessing a box of Shellshock NAS 3-9mm containing
01:04eight bullets, three boxes of Bullet Master Company Limited containing 150 bullets, and
01:1042 bullets in three different weapons without a license or weapons permit.
01:16The charge, under Section 8, Subsection A of the Arms Act 1960, carries a prison sentence
01:22not exceeding seven years or a fine not exceeding 10,000 ringgit or both if convicted.
01:28He is also charged with trafficking six firearms under Section 7, Subsection 1 of the Firearms
01:35Increased Penalties Act 1971, which provides imprisonment for up to 40 years and not less
01:42than six strokes of the cane if convicted.
01:45Both offences were allegedly committed between 6.46pm on March 26 and 6pm on March 28 last
01:53year in a hotel room on Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur.
