00:00Two of U.S. President Donald Trump's most controversial picks for his Cabinet got confirmed
00:07by the Senate after long delays and wait.
00:10Robert F. Kennedy Jr. won the vote by 52-48 to be the Secretary of Health and Human Services
00:16on Thursday, with Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky being the lone Republican who voted
00:21against Kennedy.
00:25As Kennedy was sworn into office, Trump signed an executive order to establish a commission
00:30to Make America Healthy Again that would investigate chronic illness and deliver an action plan
00:36to fight childhood diseases.
00:3820 years I've gotten up every morning on my knees and prayed that God would put me in
00:45a position where I can end the childhood chronic disease epidemic in this country.
00:50On August 23rd of last year, God sent me President Trump.
00:58And he gave me, he's now given me, he's kept every promise that he's made to me.
01:09A healthy person has a thousand dreams, a sick person only has one, 60% of our population
01:16has only one dream, that they get better.
01:20President Trump has promised that he's going to restore America's strength, but we can't
01:25be a strong nation if we have a weak citizenry.
01:29Tulsi Gabbard was sworn in as Director of National Intelligence after winning the vote
01:34also by 52-48, with McConnell once again not following party line.
01:39I look forward to being able to help fulfill that mandate that the American people delivered
01:44to you very clearly in this election, to refocus our intelligence community by empowering
01:51the great patriots who have chosen to serve our country in this way, and focus on ensuring
01:56the safety, security, and freedom of the American people.
01:59Tulsi Gabbard's an American of extraordinary courage and exceptional patriotism.
02:06She's devoted her entire life to public service and I've watched her for years on different
02:11shows and everything.
02:12And I said, she's a woman of great common sense and you know, we like the common sense.
02:18She'll provide the American people with transparency, eliminate corruption, shrink the bloated bureaucracy
02:24and restore honesty, integrity, and trust to the national security state.
02:30Media outlets had earlier reported that at least three Republican senators would vote
02:35against Gabbard and Kennedy, possibly causing their appointments to hang in the balance.
02:40The next confirmation vote will be for the other nominee for FBI Director, Kash Patel,
02:45who is also facing uncertainty in his nomination.
