Agents yarded 1737 cattle at the fourth of five weaner sales at the Hamilton Regional Livestock Exchange.
Transcript
00:00They yarded about 1,700 all breed heifers. Sales probably held up okay.
00:04Heifers back to bulls, good weighted black heifers, well bred heifers in
00:08350s and 60s. And then everything after that, if they were black they were 320s and 30s plus,
00:14didn't matter how heavy they were. A few little tigers at the end about 280s and 90s.
00:19But even your coloured heifers, sort of 310s to 20s, we're quite pleased with how the day's gone.
00:25Nampara was here buying a few to go back to bull, whether some of those northern heifers
00:29are going back to bulls or into wagyu programs, I'm not too sure yet. But locally there was only
00:34one really putting them back to a bull, or two putting them back to a bull. Previous years we've
00:41seen a lot more, but that preg-tested job's just, the margin's probably not quite there.
00:46The preg-tested job's not firing, so there's probably not the margin there,
00:50so it's just come off the face a little bit.
