The FBI checked in on Ben Affleck over the weekend and we got images of agents at the actor's L.A. home ... but he was not in any trouble with the law ... TMZ has learned.

00:06saw our hero, Ben Affleck was fleeing his home like so many others because of the evacuation
00:13orders that were going out during the fires last week.
00:16This is him driving over to Jennifer Garner's house to see the family.

00:20Well, the FBI showed up at that home that he evacuated this weekend, and it all has
00:24to do with their investigation into a drone accident last week, a drone accident that
00:30pissed off so many people because the drone ended up crashing into one of the super scoopers,
00:37these planes that scoop up water to make the drops on the fire, and this plane was knocked
00:43out of service.
00:44I think they're hoping they're going to get it back up today, but it has been out of service.
00:49By the way, not the only one.
00:50So the FBI and FAA are trying to figure out what's going on.
00:53And they've got coordinates that made them think it was in that area, which is why they
00:57did it.
00:58I mean, Ben did not fly a drone, but there are, it's a huge problem right now.
01:04There are dozens of these drones that are privately owned that are messing with the
01:09airspace where these firefighting helicopters and planes are going.
01:14And authorities are really concerned about this.

01:22It just seems that it went down in that vicinity.

01:41What people who fly these drones are forgetting, like normally planes fly at a much higher,
01:47these planes have to fly low.

01:51I saw something over the weekend where they showed from inside one of these planes and
01:56you have that mechanical voice saying, altitude, altitude, because they're flying so low.
