00:00Hey there, it's Chloe from afar. It's hard to think of a country with quite the same
00:05mix of artistry, cuisine, and natural beauty as Mexico. I know that throughout my own personal
00:10travels which have included eating my way through Oaxaca, exploring the Yucatan Peninsula,
00:14and even traveling from Monterrey to Texas, I somehow leave the country with even more
00:18places to visit for the next time. Here's some places that you should put on your radar,
00:23and a lot of them are only a short flight away from the US. Let's get into it.
00:32Oaxaca is great to visit for artistic crafts and food. Take a walk around its historic
00:36center and you'll see stores selling traditionally made rugs and shoes only a minute's walk
00:39from Michelin-recognized restaurants serving up some experimental cuisine. Don't leave
00:43without trying some regional favorites, like the smoky liquor known as mezcal and some
00:47deep-fried chapulines, also known as grasshoppers. Cancun and Tulum on the Yucatan Peninsula
00:52are big on the traveler radar, but a three-hour drive south of Tulum is the wonderfully quiet
00:56Bacalar. It's a slow-paced town and its main attractions are water-filled sinkholes known
01:00as cenotes and its lake known as the Laguna de Bacalar. The lake's nicknamed the Lake
01:04of Seven Colors because of all the shades of blue you can see thanks to the different
01:08depths of its water. Isla Hobox, off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, is a must-visit
01:14if you want to experience spectacular beaches, yoga, and a growing boonie seat. This island's
01:18got a few boutique resorts, but still has a laid-back vibe with car-free streets and
01:22plenty of places for freshly-caught and grilled seafood. You might discover your next favorite
01:27wine in Guanajuato, a city in central Mexico. This place is a great jumping-off point for
01:31exploring the rest of Guanajuato State's growing winery. Every year, the city also
01:35puts on the Festival Internacional Serentino, where musicians, theater performers, and other
01:40artists from all over the world come to showcase their cultures.
01:44Saylita, on Mexico's west coast, is colorful and full of light, especially on main streets
01:49like Calle del Guinés. This beach town is around an hour-and-a-half drive north of Puerto
01:53Vallarta. Explore its Mercado de Artesanías for huichol art and jewelry from local craftsmen,
01:58and don't forget to leave some time for surfing the gentle, reliable waves too.
02:02I hope this video inspires you to see all of Mexico's wonderfully unique places, whether
02:07you want to hike its mountains or see the sunrise on a surfboard. Is there a place in
02:11Mexico you'd like to visit? Comment down below. Remember to hit that like button and subscribe
02:16for recommendations on the world's best places to visit. Thanks for watching, and happy travels!
