00:05 Aupa! So today we're in Bilbao, in the Basque Country.

00:09 This is a region in the north of Spain and I'm going to spend a weekend here

00:12 and show you my favourite things to do in this region.

00:15 Don't forget to bring a rain jacket because it rains quite a lot here.

00:27 Pinchos are small bites of food common in northern Spain.

00:30 Some of the most well-known are Pincho de Bacalao and Pincho Muruno.

00:34 You can find great pinchos bars in Casco Viejo, the historic part of town.

00:40 So that's what we're going to do.

00:42 A pinchos bar crawl.

00:44 There are some great places like Bar Fermin, Café Bar Bilbao, Sor Gimsulo and Gure Toki.

00:50 You will notice how the locals order a local white wine known as Chaculí,

00:54 which pairs best with this bite.

00:59 Mercado de la Rivera is on the edge of the Casco Viejo neighbourhood,

01:03 right by the Nervión river.

01:06 This market has three floors full of food.

01:09 We are here to find things like fresh meat, fish, veggies and pastry.

01:15 There is even a food court with, you guessed it, more pinchos.

01:22 Bilbao's parks are beautiful spaces for a walk, which we really need after all those pinchos.

01:27 One of our favourites is Iturizar Park.

01:30 For panoramic views of Bilbao, we also like Echevarrí Park by the Casco Viejo neighbourhood.

01:41 Okay, next we're going to check out some art at the Guggenheim Museum.

01:45 Architect Frank Gehry designed this museum in the 90s,

01:48 and it's now known for its futuristic-looking design.

01:51 It focuses on contemporary art, and the current exhibition is about pop art.

01:59 Take a 40-minute ride on the metro from Casco Viejo, and you can explore Spain's northern coast.

02:05 The views are breathtaking.

02:08 There are some easy hiking trails that start from Algorta and take you along the Atlantic Ocean.
