00:00Najib Razak loyalist Eric Sito has raised questions over a purported leak of minutes
00:07of the Federal Territories Pardons Board meeting, which decided to commute the former Prime
00:11Minister's prison sentence.
00:13Sito, through his Lim Sian See Facebook page, questioned who had been responsible for leaking
00:19the purported minutes of the meeting on January 29th last year on social media.
00:24He claimed this was an attempt to show that there was no discussion about placing Najib
00:29under house arrest.
00:31He said if the document was legitimate, several conclusions can be drawn.
00:35Among these, he claimed, were that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong had proposed a full pardon
00:39for Najib and that this was rejected by the then-Attorney General, Ahmad Dehry-Rudin Saleh.
00:45He said it also acknowledges that Najib had made major contributions to the nation across
00:50several decades.
00:52Last week, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's senior political secretary, Shamsul Iskandar
00:56Akin, had called for the minutes of the Pardons Board meeting to be made public to end speculation
01:02over the full extent of the pardon granted to Najib.
01:05However, his call was rejected by Federal Territories Minister Dr. Zaliha Mustafa and
01:10the Prime Minister's Department's Legal Affairs Division on the grounds that Pardons Board
01:14proceedings are unofficial secret.
