Jonny Drury and Lewis Cox give their take on Albion's heavy FA Cup defeat at Bournemouth.
The Baggies went ahead through the returning Caleb Taylor and were good value for their lead early on.
But the Cherries fought back and showed their class, with three goals before half time.
They killed the tie just moments into the second period - before a late goal compounded Albion's afternoon on the South Coast.

00:00Baggage fans, welcome to ExpressAndStart.com, my name is Jonny Drew, I'm here with Albion
00:12correspondent Lewis Cox after a bit of a chastening afternoon for Albion in the third round of
00:17the FA Cup, battered 5-1 by Premier League, Bournemouth outclassed, outplayed, not what
00:25you want to see from the FA Cup third round, Coxie, but Albion were taught a bit of a lesson
00:29today.
00:30Yeah, it's a bit of a, not down to earth with a bum, but it's a bit of a harsh reality really
00:37isn't it, I mean, obviously Premier League hosts today, it was never an easy draw, and
00:43I think we saw today why Bournemouth are 7th in the Premier League, why they're unbeaten
00:47in 8 Premier League games, winning 5 of them, we saw a Bournemouth side who made 6 changes,
00:54okay that's quite a few, but Albion made 7, I mean, it is a hypothetical one, if Albion's
01:01best 11 started today and played today, how would they do against that Bournemouth side
01:05with 6 changes?
01:06They would probably still lose, they would still lose just by not being 5-1, I just spoke
01:14with Chris Byrne in there, and that's probably the final game, almost certainly the final
01:18game, he's going to oversee as interim head coach, he said in there, look it was a hard
01:22assignment, it was always going to be tough, we were always, as he said yesterday at the
01:25presser, we were always going to make changes, I think really with the schedule they'd been
01:30managing some niggles, some knocks, and look, as a result, we were teased for half an hour
01:36weren't we, we were sort of, you know, lured into a false sense of security, and as that
01:42old saying goes, I'm sure the away end is the hope that kills you, although, you know,
01:46shout out to that away end, 2,000 of them because they didn't stop singing, the noise
01:50was immense, we'll get him in a nice moment at the end, but for half an hour, Albion,
01:56good value for the league, obviously Caleb Taylor, put him ahead of what, 14 minutes,
02:01what a story, first start, first appearance since his recall from on loan, started the
02:07game really well, looked really composed, and then, well he's massive isn't he, he's
02:10just an absolute giant, and he didn't even have to jump to plant that header in, didn't
02:15he, and you're kind of thinking, wow, what a potential story here, in fact, Bundy's just
02:19said to me that going ahead was probably the worst thing that could happen to us, because
02:24it, you know, it threatened Bournemouth, you know, they're almost, you can see Johnny looking
02:31menacingly at the mowers there, you know, it almost sparked Bournemouth into a response
02:38didn't it really, it did, it sort of, it woke them up, certainly, they'd started a little
02:43bit, you know, slumber, a little bit sloppy, and Albion punished them, it looked really
02:47sharp for half an hour, good value for that lead, but the equaliser came on half an hour,
02:51and then it was the two goals just before half-time, and the one just after half-time,
02:56all of a sudden you've gone 1-0 to 4-1 like that, and implosion looks like it could have
03:01been on the cards, to be honest, it was 4-1 at 47 minutes, you know, so I think, relatively
03:07pleased it finished five with that fifth coming in stoppage time, you know, should have been
03:10four, but, yeah, chasing in, like you say, a bit of a harsh reality, but, you know, other
03:17things are going on at the moment, aren't they, I mentioned, you know, Brundie's final
03:19game and all that, you know, the new head coach is on the way, head change is on the
03:23way, and, you know, in the grand scheme of fighting for the championship top six, I don't
03:28think this will be remembered too, you know, too, sort of, too much, or too damagingly,
03:36I think, you know, Albion can look to get over it pretty soon.
03:41Like you said there, positive early on with the goal from Caleb Taylor,
03:44returning, I thought it slotted in really well, you know, Albion have lost five on him,
03:47he's made some mistakes in the second half, there's no doubt about that, he got away with
03:51one, and, yeah, a lot of players in Albion's side did, but collectively, promising signs
03:57that he can step up in the championship? Yeah, maybe, yeah, look, we mentioned the
04:01changes to both sides, Albion's backline today, they're back four, they're missing two of
04:07their main back four, two of their best defenders, you know, Bartley hasn't travelled, he's been
04:10given a breather, and Higgins was an unused sub, you know, Holgate didn't have an easy
04:14game, did he, next to Taylor, involved in a couple of goals, really, Holgate, and there
04:20were others that had, nobody from Albion was brilliant today, but there were a few, weren't
04:25there, two, three, Rakic really struggled, who had really poor days, and you can't afford that
04:29against quality like this, you know, it shows, doesn't it, it tells. As for Taylor, yeah,
04:35I mean, the first half, the goal aside, he looked really, really good, didn't he, and
04:39really composed, we know he's dominant, we know he's massive and aerially strong, but
04:43the way he was with the ball, looked after it so well, you know, distributed it by and
04:48large, well, he had a wobble later on, but Albion were sort of pretty gone by that stage,
04:52weren't they, and credit to him, if he's needed in the championship, I think he'll do a fine
04:57job, I do, I don't think he'll be going, you know, I don't think he'll be ousting Bartley
05:01or Hegham to play at centre half any time soon, but perhaps if Albion have to change
05:05to about three, if there's a couple of knocks, which you're going to get, aren't we, let's
05:08face it, Bartley has to be managed these days, we saw that today, you know, Caleb's got every
05:14chance, really, of pushing his way. A lot of reaction to come, I know we'll cover it
05:19on expressandstart.com in terms of, you know, Madger and Bartley left out today and rested,
05:25try and wrap this video up soon before the groundsman gets anywhere near us. Before
05:29Johnny ends up fighting a groundsman. But finally, Coxy, Chris Brunsett has been asked
05:32about, you know, a new manager coming in, we all know they're covering an advanced talk
05:35to Raphael Wiki, the Swiss, who looks to be set to take over at Hawthorne, what's the latest
05:42we kind of know on that, is it moved at Thorne anymore, or is it a case of, we're hopefully
05:46expecting something early next week? No, we believe it's in advanced talks, negotiations
05:52now, there's still things to, as of it being checked last night, there's still things to
05:57be sorted and tied up, you know, you talk about legals and then obviously get on to contracts
06:01being drawn up and finalised and stuff like that, so if you're asking me do I expect an
06:06announcement tomorrow, I'd be surprised, really. Not just because it's a Sunday, but, you know,
06:11it feels a bit soon, but an expectancy at this stage, it feels like the early part of next week,
06:18to be honest. I think the sooner Albion can do it, get it confirmed, ratified, announced,
06:23get him working ahead of Stoke at Hawthorne next weekend, the better, because it gives him a few
06:28days on the grass, as they say, to work with the players, so I think there will be a rush,
06:33but they'll want to get it done as soon as, you know, they won't want to drag feet for the sake
06:36of it, so yeah, but advanced, and I'm intrigued and interested by it, like all Baggies supporters
06:43are, I think, you know, it's a fascinating profile, it's left field, it's exciting,
06:49the unknown is kind of exciting, isn't it? We're all looking into how his young boys side,
06:55you know, played, his double winning side, but young boys are the big hitters there at the
06:59moment, and they're expected to win the league, so let's not get overly carried away, and he
07:03managed in the Champions League against, you know, against Guardiola and all that stuff,
07:06and that was only last season, so he's, you know, he's a profile in the European game, certainly.
07:11It's interesting that the ownership honed in on him, as their, you know, main choice candidate,
07:16we know Rene Hacker, the Dutchman, and even Tony Mowbray, as we reported today, Johnny,
07:23were in the running, in talks, interviewed, certainly Hacker, so yeah, it's interesting
07:30that Vicky, I think if we're going by the sort of, yeah, V rather than the W, which I've learnt
07:38today, I think, so we'll sign off for the vitality from Vicky, but yeah, I'm interested, really,
07:45I'm interested as to Bilkow decided them as his man, he reports, and things I've read about him,
07:51is that he's a coach, a developer of players, we had that with Corbren, didn't we, and,
07:57and yeah, it's, I think every baggie that were here today, 2000 of them, probably yourself,
08:01I'm sure, and everyone watching this at home, reading that stuff, would agree and be,
08:07you know, be full of optimism about it, and you know, we have watched today, I have no doubt,
08:11um, and he'll have been very encouraged by the first half, some things to iron out, clearly,
08:17either side of halftime, he'll have been encouraged by the changes you saw in the second half,
08:21they came and stemmed it and steadied the ship, um, and look, this, this top seven side in the
08:26Premier League at the moment, it's a harsh reality, but it's a different kettle of fish,
08:28different, obviously a different league to what I've been battling for in the top
08:32six or seven, trying to get in the top six of the championship, that's the gulf, we know,
08:36but, uh, we know what the target is for this season, and, uh, and hopefully Mr Vicky
08:40is here ASAP to, to get going, hopefully so, uh, and important, and potentially because a few days
08:47come up for Albion, but today wasn't one to remember, final score here in the FA Cup third
08:51round at the Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth five, Albion one, you know where to go for
08:56all the rest of your reaction, expressonstar.com
