00:00The Department of Foreign Affairs, or DFA, Secretary Enrique Manalo will hold a bilateral
00:05meeting with Japanese Foreign Minister Iwaya Takeshi during his state visit to the country
00:10scheduled for January 14 and 15.
00:13According to Philippine News Agency's report, the discussions will cover topics such as
00:17politics, defense, security, economic and development cooperation, and other mutual
00:21concerns.
00:22The two officials are expected to exchange views on regional and international developments.
00:27The Philippines and Japan are also expected to reaffirm their mutual commitment to intensify
00:32their strengthened strategic partnership for new opportunities.
00:36In July 2024, the two nations signed the Reciprocal Access Agreement aimed at promoting a safe
00:42and peaceful Asia-Pacific region.
