00:00Various agencies of the government continue to provide assistance to those affected by the eruption of Volcano Mayon.

00:07In fact, more than P4 million pesos of assistance has been distributed by the DSWD.

00:14The details are with the country's representative, Vel Custodio of PDV Manila.

00:20Due to the rise of volcanic activities and the possible eruption of Volcano Canlaon,

00:25the LGU carried out a forced evacuation of those inside the 6-kilometer danger zone.

00:31This is in relation to the national guidelines that since Cebu has raised the alert status of Volcano Canlaon to alert level 3

00:42and this indicates increased volcanic unrest and potential eruption within the coming days or weeks.

00:49That is why we forced evacuation.

00:51According to the Canlaon City Public Information Office,

00:54the evacuation of the 5 barangays near Volcano Canlaon is ongoing.

00:59More than 4,200 individuals have been evacuated near the 6-kilometer radius of the volcano.

01:05But according to the government of the city of Canlaon,

01:08if ever there is a need to force evacuate all the 5 barangays,

01:13up to 23,000 individuals will need to be evacuated.

01:17That is why the Canlaon City Government has prepared the remaining 7 barangays to serve as evacuation centers.

01:24More than 1.4 million family food packs have been prepositioned for the Canlaon affected families in Region 6 and 7.

01:31While more than 4.39 million relief goods have been distributed by the DSWD to all local government units affected by the eruption of Mount Canlaon.

01:43Yesterday, DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian personally visited Negros

01:48to assist the local government unit in looking at the situation of the affected areas

01:53and to assess the additional support that the agency will provide.

01:57The DSWD also prioritized the distribution of more than P590,000 worth family food packs to the Canlaon affected families.

02:05Following President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s order,

02:08the situation of the evacuees was looked at and help was given immediately.

02:13A medical service is also expected at the evacuation center.

02:17Meanwhile, according to the Canlaon City PIO,

02:20it has been dark for the past five days and it has been raining heavily in Canlaon City.

02:24That is why it is possible for the eruption of Mount Canlaon and Lahar-Omadi Streamflow to occur in the affected areas.

02:30The local government is suspending all social gatherings in Canlaon City for this December.

02:36The Canlaon City Government has a call.

02:39To all our fellow citizens who are still inside the 6 km radius permanent danger zone,

02:46we highly encourage you to evacuate as soon as possible to our evacuation centers since this is for their own good.

02:58And we also hope for those people who are hearing this right now to please include Canlaon City in their prayers.
