The Women, Family, and Community Development Ministry will re-evaluate the registration applications for two nurseries in Selangor and Sarawak linked to recent cases of infant deaths and injuries.
Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri stated at a press conference on Friday (Jan 10) that the applications cannot be approved hastily as the nurseries are currently under police investigation.
In her speech during the presentation of a nursery registration plaque at Taska Seri Kandi, Audit Department, Nancy highlighted that the registration plaque initiative aims to make it easier for the public to verify the legitimacy of nurseries and must be prominently displayed for public visibility.

00:00I would like to take this opportunity to thank our netizens, who have been giving us a lot of support on the issue of children.
00:10This has helped to lighten or make it easier for us to find a solution, if there is one, to inform us in advance.
00:24But at the same time, we also have to do our part to ensure that these children are always taken care of.
00:35But sometimes we are not able to do it outside of our control and our jurisdiction.
00:43We have received several reports and posts on social media about children who have passed away or who have been injured.
01:00So, things like this make us worried. We at the Ministry are worried that this will not happen, but it is still happening.
01:14However, this is an important step to show the government's commitment to ensure that the system of education and early care of children in this country is at its best, safe and quality.
01:29The Ministry sees the registration process as an effort and a solution that makes it easier for all parties to know the status of their children.
01:42The task of their place of residence is to take care of their children, in addition to providing food at the social welfare office at www.jkm.gov.my.
01:57So, the registered post will operate under the conditions set for the safety and well-being of children during their stay in the post.
02:11Subsequently, it can reduce the risk of an unforeseen incident.
02:18Ladies and gentlemen, as many as 3,198 registered post will receive their signature.
02:27This registration form will not be placed or stored in an easy-to-see place outside the post premises.
02:38This is to ensure that parents or the public can clearly see the post.
02:45This means that the registered post is a registered post and you can be sure that this is a safe place for your children to register.
03:05As a government, your responsibility is to ensure the safety and well-being of your children.
03:10The Ministry has emphasized the importance of ensuring that every registered post in this country is registered.
03:20So, the Ministry wants to assure parents and the public that every registered post has been registered under the Registration Act of 1984 and the Registration Act of 2012.
03:39This is to ensure that your children are in a safe, well-organized and safe environment for their development.
03:50Dr. Sreedati, you have mentioned the importance of ensuring the safety and well-being of your children.
03:56How do you feel about this?
04:00We feel very bad about it.
04:11That is why we are looking for a way to have a system to allow parents who want to send their children to know whether the registered post is registered or not.
04:28Why is it important for parents to know whether the registered post is registered or not?
04:33Because before it is registered, it needs to comply with all the regulations.
04:37So, if there is compliance, it can give confidence to parents.
04:44We cannot guarantee that nothing will happen.
04:49Because if something happens, it may be an unwanted accident.
04:55But if there is a registered post, it is a very basic requirement for parents to send their children.
05:07This is what worries us.
05:10That is why we come up with this particular procedure so that they can register first.
05:19We have 3,198 registered posts.
05:25So, I hope that those who want to register or are in the process of registering,
05:37be careful and register.
05:41I know that some of them want to register.
05:44But they are restricted by certain authorities.
05:49For example, in Sarawak, there is a landless survey.
05:53Bomba is another local authority.
05:56But they are doing their job to ensure that the premise is safe to be sent to operate as a task force.
06:07So, they need to comply with the requirements of the authorities.
06:14Regarding yesterday's incident, is there any progress to be made on the JKM case?
06:21We have sealed the place.
06:31We have sealed the place and they should not be able to operate there anymore.
06:37Why? Because under the law, if they continue to operate, it is against the law.
06:44Therefore, the parents need to comply.
06:47If the place has been sealed, then they should not continue to block it so that they can send their children.
06:55But as a mother, I understand.
06:58Because many of them work and need a place to send their children.
07:04But we need to give priority to the safety of their children.
07:12Therefore, we hope that the parents who want to send their children can find a better and safer place for their children.
07:21And choose a place that is registered.
07:23We are doing this effort to help the parents so that they have guidance.
07:31If the place is not registered, then find another place.
07:38I understand that the task force has made a statement, but it has not been finalized yet.
07:43Is there any reason why it has not been finalized yet?
07:47We have sealed the place.
07:50But regarding the incident, we have already filed a complaint with the police.
07:55I have two cases in my mind.
07:59One is in Sarawak.
08:01It is a request from the police.
08:06Therefore, it cannot be resolved easily.
08:12Because it also requires authorization from the local authority.
08:17We have a bomb, we have a local authority.
08:20And in Sarawak, there is a land survey.
08:22We have a land survey in Sarawak.
08:25We have a request from the local authority.
08:27We have a request from the local authority.
08:29We have a request from the local authority.
08:31It depends on the police.
08:33The name of the police survey.
08:36Because it involves children who have passed away.
08:39One more thing.
08:41According to the father's report, there are other things as well.
08:48Therefore, we have to be cautious.
08:54We have to be careful.
08:57We have to make sure that the children have passed away.
09:00We have to be careful.
09:05Because if we just let them pass away, it will affect the safety of the children.
09:14Do you have the power to cover up illegal activities?
09:20Yes, we do.
09:21That is what we have to do under the law.
09:24To cover up.
09:26We have to make sure that I use the right term.
09:31That is what we have to do under the law.
09:34It is not just about that.
09:36There are some people who do not comply with the law.
09:41They give us the right to seal the place.
09:47We have sealed about 8 places so far.
09:53For 2024.
